I can't connect to wifi for some reason. Like I go to settings, it says I'm on my Wifi but when I go to Safari it goes to the 'connecting' screen indefinetly, when I go to the appstore I get an invalig argument (?). It's one of those hidden WPA connections.

Anyone else have this happen to them? If so I really could use some help.

is it a new connection or has it worked in the pass? if it has worked before. when my router goes boobies up.. i find a reboot fixes it.. i just turn it off and unplug it for a few mins... plug it back in and things seem to work again.

never had a problem where that did not fix it unless the internet was down at the isp.

Hmm I reboot mine all the time. I just went to a friends house and it worked there, now I'm back home and it's working again. I blame jailbreaking.

Check to see what IP address you're getting on your iPod.

This happened once to my iPod, and it was a problem with the Wi-Fi antenna. I had to return it, and Apple gave me a new one.

Okay I restored my ipod, put it on OS4. Same problems.

@Derek420, I'm getting an IP address for sure, and it's the wifi. But it just will not do anything involved with the internet.

@BR, crap. Actually that's awesome. I can get a whole new ipod for free. Sell that one at a premium price and wait for the new one to come out. Do you need a warranty or something on it? Or did they just diagnose it and hand you a new one.
Also could your ipod connect to other Wifis? Mine can, just not the ones at home.

    1) I had Apple Waranty
    2) If it can connect to other Internet, it's not the iPod, it's your router.

What I meant was check the actual IP. Tap the blue arrow next to the connection.

If its 169.x.x.x, then your router is sending off a default IP that isn't actually connecting you to the internet.

    It's not 169. it's like 192.etc.

I just went and restarted my router and reset my ipod's network. Working now...for the moment. It probably is my router.

    Thanks for the help

    Ah ok good.

I get the 169.x IP a lot, annoys the shit out of me. Have to restart my Mac to get a proper IP again.
