I searched the Chinese iTunes store and to my (democratic) horror there is no game section on the store. Does anyone have any information regarding the lack of games? I was really hoping to sell some games into China. Please don't tell me it isn't so. Ready to cry...... So many people lost forever.
There haven't been games in the Chinese App Store since the beginning. Hopefully that will change when they start selling the iPhone.
There are a few games, under Entertainment but there are very little. I wonder why, I was shocked to find out China banned YouTube and blogs as well.
China is very strict about the worldwide web and anything questionable will surely be blocked. YouTube is definitely known for its inappropriate videos (not inappropriate in the sense of nudity but people expressing questionable opinions as well as occasional cussing in videos). Much of the iTunes Store is blocked because of notable songs and media supporting the Tibetan cause, in which China has taken offense to and does not want being translated across China.
That's what communists do they censor things that don't go with their philosophies. Try and make it to the U.S., preferabley a conservative area where you wont have to listen to too many control-freak liberals trying to tell you what to do. Live free
just change your country to one that is full of games... like the US EDIT: oh, i just reread your OP, so you just searched in the chinese app store.
There's no game section because all the games are listed in the "entertainment" section -.-'; The gaming industry in China and generally Asia is far superior than the ones in America fyi. Though it is true that most English games from west for iPhone aren't available in our store, though there is a selection of Chinese/Japanese/Korean games.
You say it like it's a fact. I hate how so many Asians always seem to defend their culture to the death, and claim that they're better in every way. I'm sorry but the "Chinese Gaming Industry" is definitely not better then America's gaming industry.
Lol switched to the American app store have we and all of Asian games I saw were fakes/copies and this is coming from an Asian too. Noe I know why people think less of us
Defending culture? What? I surf more English sites than Chinese sites, and I'm still able to conclude that there are more activity in Asian gaming community than American ones. That's reason enough to back up what I said. ^As for piracy I couldn't care less. Westerners have their own copyright-freak attitude, we don't, simple as that. Different perspectives, different cultures, different way of getting entertainment, and the gaming industry still runs fine doesn't it?
