1) Apart from resolution, it shouldn't look too different on different devices. I think level reflections might be disabled on the iPhone 3GS and 4, and the iPhone 4 might not have rougher edges, but if your not paying attention to the details, it isn't that noticeable a difference. 2) In racing, all the cars have real physics and collision. Each race will be slightly different, and expect to see some big smashes, the AI isn't necessarily that smart. 3) The hard platforming and time trial levels have different geometry (more and bigger jumps, plus smaller gaps to get through, narrower roads, and even a few rare checkpoints are completely different.). The easy platforming and time trial levels give you more jet fuel, and disable collision on checkpoints and hoops. Time trial easy also adds invisible walls on edges of tracks. For freestyle, the time is different on different difficulties, and on racing, the AI is harder (plus more jet fuel on easy), but the geometry is the same.
Does anybody know whether or not this will have Game Center? Anxious to hear back from the developers or somebody in the loop...
On initial release there will be no Game Center but will follow on an update. But what we do have is our own online system that uses our server. This gives us for flexibility on what we can do with the leaderboards, like having replays connected to hi-scores. This means you can watch how people got there top scores. Also we have our own challenge system that relies on replays as well. But our system will be very hard to cheat because of the replays. Game Center is pretty restrictive because you can only have 25 leaderboards ( we need a 120 of them) and you cannot connect replays to them. When we do the Game Center update will will include achievements. But don't let this put you off because our system offers much better things for competition and such
Very easy instabuy here, too ! @luketrueaxis Almost had a positive heart attack when i saw the "code" at the end of your post. Reading Space Tripper...just for a very short moment i thought there's an update to iphone 5 support...i know it's not...argh
There needs to be a new pack... 11. I love JCS2 so much that I will pay more just to help support the developers. Have a special car available or maybe their name is highlighted in gold on the leaderboards to signify that they are gold level supporters(I would actually like that better!). $20 I would buy it because I love this game so much. Or create a new game that is inclusive of all levels and all future levels at a very high price just to help support the developers and maybe includes a special car and gold names in the leaderboards . I got a bunch of itunes gift cards and I would love to send a majority of it the developers way because JCS1 is my favorite game on iOS so this will surely also be.
Jcs 1 Hi Can't wait for this game Do you think we would ever see the levels from jcs 1 included in this game. I would pay to have those as an IAP That had to be my favourite game but it's not the same without the challenge system Cheers
The level editor is super simple, and looks different to the rest of the game. Track is placed under the car as you drive. The good thing about it is that you can make quite a fun track in a couple of minutes, but the down side is that you do not have exact control. The level editor is actually quite a lot of fun in its self.
I guess it'll be easier to understand once we're playing but how do you place jumps and other obstacles if the track technically isn't created yet till you drive on it?
Would it be possible to hold the pause button to do a track reset? It would be easier for when trying to get gold.
This is all just a guess. But I'd imagine it stops making the track when you let go of the accelerator. And you change the elevation with the accelerometer.
In the Settings menu we have options to customise how the Reset works. 1. The Reset works like JCS1. 2. The Reset takes you back to the beginning of the track before the first checkpoint, after that you reset to the last checkpoint you did. 3. The Reset takes you back to the beginning no matter if you went through checkpoints. That way you can reset for even quicker starts or keep it pure like the original.
The level editor is much more simpler than that... You just drive and track gets laid down. There's a button to turn off the track and hoops and such will be laid out. Other buttons are there to lay down checkpoints when a checkpoint is ready to be laid. There's also a rewind button so you can go back and alter things. It really works pretty well Over xmas day I was watching my wifes nephews use the editor and they were having a great time using it... and even said that was one of the best features of the game. What they liked was how fast you could create a level and then play it for testing.
That sounds really great for quick level creation. I'm just wondering: how do you change the elevation of the track, say to make a ramp, if not with the accelerometer?
