Hey all, I'm working on wrapping up my latest game called Jetpack Joust. You fly from floor to floor trying to defeat enemies by attacking them from above. As you reach the higher floors there are more enemies and they move faster. Updated with video and I'm also looking for beta testers! Thanks! -RR Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Game looks pretty cool. Well done. You can also include accelerometer controls in this. So just tapping and holding lets you use the jetpack and tilting left and right makes him move sideways. Just a suggestion, as generally i like to avoid on screen buttons. Besides that, the floors concept is really cool. Looking forward to playing this .
Hey All in a Days Play, thanks for the feedback, the accelerometer idea is a good one! If I can get the accelerometer controls working smoothly I'll add them in - I'm actually testing it right now. - RR
Updated the first post with a new trailer. If anyone is interested in beta testing shoot me a PM! Thanks! - RR
Forgot to post a link to the awesome preview Carter Dotson of good ol' TouchArcade did for Jetpack Joust! Thanks, Carter!... http://toucharcade.com/2015/05/15/jetpack-joust-trailer/ - RR
Got an advance copy from the dev and this is a fun little bite size game with a nostalgic twist. Growing up Joust was one of my favorite arcade games, in JJ you attack from above just as in Joustbut that's where the similarity ends. Where in the original you were clearing levels and collecting eggs this version finds you climbing up a scaffold level by level with each one having more evil doers who, when bested, drop coins and magnets and bombs (not found a bomb yet). This becomes a 'how far can you climb' challenge with occasional twists added like electrified floors. Coins collected help buy new skins which can also be purchased to support the developer. All in all this is a fun little game that anyone that enjoys Joust or Super Crate Box will enjoy. By the way I'm currently number two in the world with 18 floors.
Hey, there will be testflight access, or you have some promocodes? The main idea looks good, migh be addctive
Thanks so much for the great feedback CygnetSeven! The bomb is a little tricky. You can only find a bomb if you defeat one of the red enemies while you have the magnet. So just don't lose the magnet! I was hoping it make people really cautious once they got the magnet. Great score BTW!
