Alright I just came home, took out one earbud so I can hear if the alarm was on. Went upstairs and went to the bathroom. I was on the toilet with the right one in my ear and the left one hanging. When I heard the phone ring my earbud slipped and fell into the toilet, or maybe almost? I couldn't really tell it kinda happened fast. Anyways, Instantly I went to go wipe it with some wet towels. The whole point of this is... I DO NOT want to put that in my ear.... Any ideas how to trick apple in replacing them free? I still have my 1 year warranty. I bought it at best-buy, can I get it replaced there free since that place is closer? Product: Apple Headphones, with clicky button.
Not that big of a deal. Clean it with some disinfectant wipes. It'll be fine. Do your buds have that removable part that goes in your ear (in case your ear's bigger or smaller than average)? If so, take 'em off, clean 'em, voila.
I'd like to mention they are not In ear earbuds... They are those regular ones. Posting picture in first post.
By dropping the earbud in the toilet I mean dropping the whole thing you put into your ear. Any one know how I can trick apple to replace them free? Like how can I say there is something wrong with them?
That's kinda sick. Instead of cleaning/replacing them, you should get a new pair. I highly recommend Sony or Bose
I really don't want to spend money on new pairs of headphones. And I want the apple ones because it has the clicker. =D The point of this thread is anyone know a way that works to trick apple into replacing my headphones for free?
Why would you think that you should trick apple into replacing them for free?? It was clearly user error. Clean them with alcohol and use a q-tip to get into any crevices. They will be cleaner than they were before you dropped them in the toilet! If that's not good enough for you then spend some money on new earbuds...
Unless you clean it with bleach, you'll have e.coli in your ear EwWwWwWwwww! Think of how warm the inner is and how that warmness will cause the bacteria to FlourisH! Just go buy new earphones.
I'm not able to get a job. Those headphones cost $40 where I am. Exactly why I want new ones without paying $40
Just clean them with alcohol wipes - it will be fine. Take it from a parent - kids put much worse things in their nose, their ears, their mouths... and they grow up to be .... you... and me... and everyone else... You are not going to get an infection from a second or so of toilet water..
Take a hammer, put the headphones on a table and BANG! 'I swear Apple, they just exploded at random. Looks like I hit them with a hammer? I don't know what you're talking about!'
