Don't you think that if Apple approved of all his garbage in the first place, they wouldn't spend the extra effort to erase his apps? Even if the reviewers are complete morons, it's quite impossible that all his apps are being approved. His apps are earning Apple money, and as long as they get money, why do they care how his apps are? Seriously since when did iTunes have a strict policy of reviewing apps anyways... if they did all those garbage like fart apps or prank apps would be in another planet.
I'm glad I never even knew about that guy until I saw complaints on this website. Golly! I could've actually bought something from him if I did.
Quality over quantity. Nothing else to say really. I'd rather be known for having one good app, than having 1,536 crap ones (regardless of any possible income differences).
That and developers who feel the need to submit 10 different versions of the same app that just have different data sets, which there may have been a slight excuse for before, but with in app purchasing there isn't any longer.
shit, garbage, morons ... these are not wise neither polite or smart words. He did some work and if you you don't like it no need to insult him. Just don't buy his apps. If Apple thinks that this apps don't meet the standards they must not be approved. Also you can say I dont like his apps and will not buy them. But some of you have insulted him. If I were Khalid I would ask to delete some posts here, come on wera are not kids ... or perhaps .. yes?
The guy has a lot of TopSexLadies apps, which, I am sure, use copyrighted selebs photos (no way Khalid did those snaps himself )... I guess the owners of those pics can easily be located (via google image search, etc) and contacted. Then they can chose to go after Apple for selling their intellectual property (in USA, where laws still apply ) w/o permission.. Unless Khalid is smart enough NOT to pack those things in a bundle and use WebView for downloading them off someone's site on-a-fly. In any case I am not risking my $5 to find out
has anyone done anything about him? from what I hear he's still shoving garbage out into the app store.. do these get craceked or does no one bother
The more I look in to this guy's "works" the more I get pissed at Apple's "review process" They gave me hard time for having the word "DEMO" appeared in help text of one of my apps... Khalid's "Depression News" (rip off of the RSS demo example) in screenshots 2&3 have header "(null)" which is a sure indication that something went wrong in the code.. but somehow that did not bounce off Apple's QA wall... :-( Is this being tested in the same country Khalid is from???
Khalid is not trying to make money of the app store directly.. Instead he is trying to find investors, willing to dump 100K-10M in to his venture: http://www.iphoneintouch.com/forum/topics/iphone-development-resources Can't blame a guy for trying, right?
Hey guys, I was first about to defend this guy, because I thought he had a big team making a lot of small apps etc etc etc.. But when I looked at what he releases- WOW! This is a huuuuuge amount of useless and poorly produced app. It's a funny thing... Apple thinks that flooding the AppStore with useless crap is OK, but having for example a kamasutra app is "god-forbid"... I remember talking to the italian iphone fans some time ago, about our app- Ananga Ranga (kamastura for iphone) and its rejection by Apple, and some of them said "I am happy, because the AppStore has a class, and such apps would only ruin it...". Back then I asked them how could they speak of classy AppStore considering that iFart and so on are their preferred apps? But now, after seeing this guy's work, I'd rather give HIM as an example of un-classy or just plain useless load of crap. Cheers, ILIYA
I also sent an email to Apple's copyright agent. Doubt they will do anything, since I don't own any of the content that they are infringing on. But may be it will draw their attention to this "developer"
This may be really late, but I had just found out last night that he made all those TopSexyLadies apps, which he most likely did without permission. He's breaking laws, man.
It's actually pretty funny. Apple used to be about quality. Not anymore (at least not 100% anymore, their hardware is still good and their own software too). I'd say that most apps on the App Store are crap (good thing we only see the tip of the ice berg, i.e. the good stuff). Also, Apple say that they have the App Store to sell more devices, not to make money. I'm pretty sure all the infrastructure is pretty expensive (all credit card handling, support, all the people reviewing apps, all the servers around the world serving millions and millions of downloads, all dev contacts, offices for everyone and so on). They haven't said how much the earn, and not how much everything costs to make the cogs spin, but my guess is a LOT. It may look like they don't care, and maybe they don't, but they really should.
Not sure which ice berg tip you are looking at, but the one I see most days looks like the international space station were dumping their waste on it due to a broken space toilet. There are some great apps that appear in the top lists, but most of them, at least IMO are complete junk, which unfortunately hides some absolute gems that don't get any exposure.
Hehe yeah, there are some hidden gems alright. Things would be much better if Apple fixed the top 100 lists, lots of hidden gems would not be hidden anymore, and the crap would sink like stones (i.e. rated two stars or less).
