That would be Utakah, the slightly crazed ...nah, "extraordinary"... fire shaman. Loved this guy, he was one of my favorites.

    Oh and:
As far as I can see noone else answered that question yet, but I don't want the promocode (perfectly willing to pay full price). Give it to someone who really needs it and you think deserves it.

Excellent. Utakah is the correct answer.
    You've definitely played our game(s) :).

Very generous of you to offer your well deserved promo code to others.
But it's a +1 cursed promo code that insists on sticking to the rightful owner :).

Anyway, it seems that promo codes don't unlock IAP content.
So the only advantage is that you can download the game already before the official release (and play the free Prologue scenarios).
Although the IAP is working already, so the game is fully playable.

Question 5): Poison Arrow is not supported.

So, how about SW&E? Would you leave it on the Appstore? Pretty please, with the sugar on top? I don't want to choose between it and the Kingturn unlock...

Absolutely correct. Poison Arrow is not supported.
We've always wanted to implement this, though (or any other kind of DOT), but so far we haven't done so.
I'll send you a promo code, and I'll answer your question regarding Sw&Ear in a separate post very soon.

I'll leave Sw&Ear for the time being on the market.
And I promise that we won't remove it before you have a chance to download either Sw&Ear or its enhanced remake Kingturn RPG Plus (meaning that we might remove it already before Kingturn Plus is published, but only after we have made the final decision to publish Kingturn Plus on iOS).

That said, I would still recommend holding back with buying Sw&Ear.
The chances that we will port Kingturn Plus and Kingturn Underworld to iOS are actually not that bad.
And Kingturn Plus not only has all the benefits of our new Kingturn engine, but also comprises a few additional scenarios we couldn't backport to Sw&Ear for technical reasons.

I am enthusiastic about the developer's increasingly positive musings about porting Kingturn Plus and Kingturn Underworld to iOS. Fingers crossed.
Good news to hear Utakah is making a return in Kingturn! I'll be curious to see how time has treated him since Sw&Ear. I've always felt Sw&Ear/Knighturn were tales not of Andaria (the land / political region) but of Utakah (Grimlog Shaman supreme). One of the great things about Kingturn etc is the sense of shared continuity across games where they are not directly connected but there's a lot of plot / character overlap. On iOS that's unheard of.

    Promocode to give away

Okay, so I answered a question right, and now got a promocode where I already said I will not use it because I want to support the developer by buying their game.

I cannot come up with a nice quiz like niebau did, so I will make this easy for myself:
Give me a good reason why you should get the promocode, and you will get it.
Funny story, picture, whatever (well, no long videos, don't have time to watch hours...) .
Best if it is related to the games, similar to niebau's quiz (e.g. "my grandmother's cat Meowie is on her deathbed after a nasty encounter with a well-known Grimlog Shaman, and her last wish is to play Kingturn before she passes away") ; but if not, fine as well.

    ---
NOTE: I won't set a deadline right now, so first one who comes up with something that I like gets the code. I asked niebau if the code expires at some point, just to be sure it can be used later, say a week or two from now.

Actually I am curious about the chronological sequence of these games, as I gather that some of them are remakes. What is the chronological sequence, and what is the recommended playing order?

Once more you are hitting the nail on the head, undeadcow.
After we had released all Kingturn titles on Android, we had the very same feeling.
So in one of the patches we've added 3 more scenarios to Kingturn Plus where Utakah's true intentions are revealed. This is so to speak the 'grand finale' of the whole trilogy where the story lines of all 3 titles are connected.

Order is not important to the narrative as far as I can tell since each is self-contained. There's no cliffhangers or continuous plot, games occur in the same universe with some mild continuity touches (i.e. a brief child cameo in Knighturn is a central character in Sw&Ear, the Grimlock Shaman mentioned early makes an appearance in all as "comic relief"). The overarching connection between games is mainly political rather than focused on specific characters or situations. So far most hero/central/plot characters seem exclusive to one game (except Utakah) save for the context of warring nations. There's a great amount of personality and divisive in each game focusing on a band of survivors, a nercomancer uprising, or a civil war but nothing requiring previous knowledge of other installments to enjoy in my opinion.

Kingturn Plus is a "remake" of Sword and Earrings (Sw&Ear) and Kingturn Underworld is a updated Knighturn. The "chronological" order is Knighturn (aka Kingturn Underworld, a prequest to Sw&Ear) followed by Kingturn, then Sword & Earrings (aka Kingturn Plus); but they were not even released in that order.
Nice! Now I just need to get access to Kingturn Plus and all will be revealed. ;)

Edit: Altered continuity information to reflect information from the developer.

Story wise the chronological order is:

    - The rise of King Constantin (Knighturn = Kingturn Underworld)
    Map: East Andaria

    - The rule of King Constantin (Kingturn RPG)
    Map: West Andaria

    - The death of King Constantin (Sw&Ear = Kingturn Plus)
    Map: East Andaria

Edited note: Only the first title (Knighturn / Kingturn Underworld) is about King Constantin's personal story. The descriptions are mainly meant for pointing out the time line.

However, the stories themselves are rather independent, so it doesn't really matter in which order the games are played.

Playing the titles chronologically backwards is a perfectly fine option, for example. This way you reveal more and more of the story background.

I would tend to recommend playing Kingturn Underworld as the last title, however.
Mainly because you can take control of almost every unit available in the games (including the undead) which is kind of a highlight.
But that is really just a personal taste.

Edit: I've just seen your reply now, undeadcow. I agree in every regard and there's not much to add.
Only that Kingturn is indeed timed between Knighturn and Sw&Ear, but that is only hinted at in one of the scenarios very late in the game, so you didn't have much of a chance to realize that :)

One of the standout things about the new format introduced with Kingturn is the good amount of difficulty customization. Not only can you adjust a "difficulty" setting but also impact the frequency that enemies respawn. The game comes with recommended default settings but you can set it to your taste which is a great benefit.
You should consider adding more undead campaigns in to the other games; or even focusing on them more in a subsequent sequel if there are any. Playing an earlier dungeon campaign in Kingturn fighting undead seems like a playful nod to the access in Knighturn/Kingturn Underworlds.

I'm going to be picking this up either way but I wanted to know if the game is universal? I read someone say it scales and isn't just x2 but I wasn't sure if that meant it was universal. Anywho, if anyone who has it early or knows please let me know.

I don't know if it's universal (is there any easy way to tell on my iPod Touch 5G?) but I can confirm that Kingturn has 5G widescreen support and looks great on that caliber retina.

Haven't seen this till now. It looks great!
Are the others worth grabbing or should I get this one first and see if I want the others?

Kingturn was built as a universal app.
So it recognizes the device you are using (iPad / iPhone / iPod) and takes advantage of the corresponding resolution of the display.
You also don't have to pay twice for an iPad and an iPhone version.

Actually I would recommend waiting since Kingturn has many improvements over Sw&Ear and Knighturn.

Sheinfell has offered to give away his promo code for Kingturn, by the way (see above).
So you might even not have to wait until the official release date on Friday :).

Edit : but grab the others after because the same great gameplay is there bit with less high production. I personally will play Knighturn right after I've drained Kingturn of enjoyment in several months time !

Edit : sry didn't mean to quote myself... Fail lol

Looks great on my IPad 2 (since its not just an iPhone app), not sure if it looks better with the new iPads with retina though. Had to unlock the whole game instantly, as the quality and improvements over the first two games really shows.
