Well he is just stating an opinion. People get in flames when their point of view is altered. And for the record, this game has double currency.

Let me explain what double currency is:

If you have two currencies and both are available via IAP, that is dual currency.

And this game has an IAP shop that sells this:

Coin Doubler: Forever doubles all doom-shekels you pick up
Baddie Pack: 4000 coins for 2€
Devious Pack: 10,000 coins for 5€
Big Boss Pack: 25,000 AND 10 gems for 10€
Evilness Pack: 25 gems for 2€
And then you can convert coins into gems. 1000 coins for 5 gems.

So stop saying this dont have dual currency because it has. Dont confuse customers, IT HAS DOUBLE CURRENCY.

Personally when I think dual currency, I think of the freemiium concept where items in a store will be like 40 coins and 20 gems. You can't buy something without having both and gems will be rare or extremely hard to earn, thus forcing the player to turn to IAP to make any progress

Yes, this game has more than one currency, but I wouldn't call it dual currency. I think there's a fundamental difference.

Now we are trying to change what dual currency means? Hell no. Dual currency is dual currency and always will be, freemium, paidmium,.... Sorry but NO.

Frankly it amazes me how stupid the human race is LMAO. People get on thier high horses regarding currencies without even playing the game....

Yes this game has two currencies...does this make it padmium...Short Answer NO

Freemium or Padmium rely on paywalls and nothing else (Currency is merely one way of doing this of which there are many)....

What annoys me is that people who would really benefit from this excellent game will listen to the idiots (or lose interest in the thread due to the amount of inane drivel and stay away out of caution).

    GREAT GAME....BUY IT

First. No need to insult. You look like one of those who you are insulting now. Not good.

Second, as for me, I bought the game and I know what Im talking about.

Third, IT IS PAIDMIUM! Its so hard to understand that? Really?

Paidmium: IAP in a premium priced game. And this one has. And has gems. So yes, its paidmium. Sorry but NO.

Personally I disagree. I feel there is a difference. Having multiple currencies in a game is not equivalent to a dual currency system.

And no I'd think this is "paid-ium" either. Just because a paid game has IAP does not make it "paid-ium". Starborn Anarkist has IAP, Galaxy Run has IAP, Icebreaker has IAP, I wouldn't classify any of those as paidium.

But this is a discussion for a different thread, don't want to derail this one

Freemium, paidmium, smademium, who cares? What is important is you do not need to spend more then the initial asking price here and for that you get a great game with plenty of content. Can't we all just agree on that and move on and discuss the game itself?

I bought the game and like it a lot. To make it clear, I am trying to educate some people with what "paidmium" means, seems they don't fully understand the meaning and I cant let them going away and telling other people what they think paidmium means and having everyone think the same way, when its wrong. No sir I cant do that. We better keep the meaning true.

I like all your games, Grumpyface. Loved Super Mole Escape, Wispin and BMS and Im loving this one too. Its just that I don't see the need to include gems if they don't do anything. It only scares people away (you already read some comments on that, imagine how many people though the same but didn't vent it out).

This thread is on the spotlight now. That thread is abandoned. Nothing against Grumpyface from me. But its the perfect time to try to educate people with paidmium, freemium, dual currency and such really means. Just accept this game is paidmium, and I will let it go, but until then, I cant do that. Sorry.

Lets investigate the origins of paidmium now:

Obviously, it comes from the mix of two words: paid, and mium :p

Paid: everyone know where that word come from.

-Mium: Where can it comes from? Hmmmmmm (sarcasm, Im angry now). Now for real. Comes from free-mium. Its a word made when IAP practically didnt existed on iOS, much less paid app with gems and IAP. So someone came up with paidmium. To make it cleared for all of us. Means paid app with freemium elements, as for gems and IAP. Maybe you werent around when that happened, but its like that.

    It is clear now?

What an idiotic question. Have you not understood that that is precisely the point being discussed? As in being disagreed upon?

It's obviously we'll have to agree to disagree. There's a key part that separates paidium from a premium app with IAP. In that, like freemium, the paidium model forces the player to a bottleneck, enticing and encouraging the player to spend money or be forced to deal with glacial progress, if any at all. Paywalls in a paid game, that's something I find insulting and disrespectful as a gamer.

But premium games with IAP like Doombad don't. You never need to spend any money to progress further. All can be attained through normal progression, nothing is locked behind paywalls or high prices. It's a fine line, but that critical difference, that disorted balance that seeks to force players to purchase IAP, is what separates paid-ium from premium. Not the mere of presence of IAP

Next time you manage to insult the entire human race, please refrain from ending that sentence with "LMAO".

Although that kind of proves your point... In your particular case, that is.

Yes, that premium apps dont come with IAP. The true meaning of premium that you get everything paying upfront. Like Badland. Paidmium is called when paid app includes IAP. So taking both words and mixing them what we have? Paidmium, as in Castle Doombad. There is a difference between premium and freemium. You dont seem to understand it, thus I explain it very simplified... Paidmium: included freemium elements. And gems are freemium elements, they are the shining example of what freemium means. Period.

Aye it would be nice to move the conversation on we could all talk and argue forever about IAP. Let's just settle in saying the game has two currencies but you pay the price for the game and need never buy anything again at all still as the second currency here is given out freely also and only needed for 3 cheats I like to call them : )

How are gems freemium? By themselves, they're just a currency. That's not exclusive to any model, free, paid, or whatever. It's the rate which currency is earned, the prices of items, and what that currency is used for, that shifts a game's to paidium or freemium. Just having a currency like gems is not an indication that a game is freemium

Before the raise of freemium titles and also before the inclusion of them in Temple Run 2 I never saw them almost anywhere, much less as strong as now. So yes, I think gems are a basic part of freemium.

Also, freemium is NOT designed to rip you off. If a freemium game fails, its because the dev were too greedy. Freemium were originally designed to let people play the game and if they wanted, they donated something. But its human nature, so it failed miserably by greed. And it all comes to today, where so many people see IAP and run away or suspect from it. Its not our fault, its the developers fault. We are human, and are driven by emotions, and that emotion has memory, so we react. We been cheated in the past, now we are more cautious. And I fight for a future that is IAP/Greed free, but now, seeing that they washed your minds already, Im starting to believe all hope is lost. Damn. :(
