Article Here "Prahlad Jani, an 82-year-old Indian yogi, is making headlines by claims that for the past 70 years he has had nothing -- not one calorie -- to eat and not one drop of liquid to drink. To test his claims, Indian military doctors put him under round-the-clock observation during a two-week hospital stay that ended last week, news reports say. During that time he didnt ingest any food or water and remained perfectly healthy, the researchers said." What do you think? Personally, I think it's interesting how even under military watch he supposedly went without water (he was not given any food) for two weeks... I don't know if I believe this or not, but I sure as hell want to.
Reminds me of the guy that allegedly lived for 256 years. http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/offbeat-news/bodyshock-the-amazing-story-behind-the-256-year-old-man/1130
It is simply impossible. It is impossible to carry out bodily functions and create ATP (energy) to live without water
Correction: It's a lie. Anyone who actually remembers their bullshit class will know that. I took that class in the 1st grade, actually kindergarden.
Although this seems highly unlikely, I want to believe it. The power of the mind is so extraordinary, it controls your very existence. At this point, do I believe it? No. But do I think its out of all realms of possibility? Absolutely not.
I googled some more and I found that he lost weight in that 2 week observation period. This I think puts a HUGE(R) doubt on this.
I find it astonishing some of you can actually believe this yet find it impossible to rationalize religion.
I don't think anybody here has really believed it, just acknowledged it as a possibility. Same with religion. Most people are at least semi-secular with doubts about certain parts of their religion, but have a little core belief. Religion can never be entirely rationalized, though.
Reminds me of this, can't find the actual article though: Q: Did a Man Once Eat an Airplane? A: Yes, but let’s not sell him short; he hasn’t just limited himself to airplanes. The man in question – a French fellow named Michel Lotito – has also devoured 18 bicycles, a few TVs, a wooden coffin, and several supermarket shopping carts! And of course, let’s not forget all the light bulbs, razor blades, and other knickknacks he’s downed on variety shows over the years. You see, Lotito’s got an iron stomach – actually, he’s just got iron in his stomach, but his actual stomach lining is twice as thick as a normal person’s. This at least explains how he can eat metal; but you still may be left wondering why he does eat metal. We can’t really help you with that one, but we can tell you that Lotito, who goes by the name Monsieur Mangetout (French for “Mr. Eats Everything”) decided one day to graduate up to airplanes – a Cessna 150 plane to be exact – in order to earn a place in Guinness World Records. His actual record is for Most Unusual Diet: two pounds of metal per day. In the end, it’s impossible to tell just how crazy Monsieur Mangetout is. After all, if he had any screws loose he’d have eaten them. Doesn't actually say he eats metal in place of food though.
