I don't know why people think it's a sale for MC2. The words "join the resistance" dosen't really apply to the Modern Combat series, I think...
Regardless - I dont care what the image is of. Gameloft are the premier iOS FPS developers. Now that EA are lifting their Battlefield 3 embargos, releasing screens (videos are trickling out) for the most hyped shooter this year (PC, consoles and even maybe iOS) - Gameloft need to release more screens or a trailer. They've shown ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for March of Heroes since E3 in JUNE. Going into September, will be 3 months. Gameloft going silent and allowing EA take mindhsare to be THE FPS game to own this fall is bad form. Show the damn game, already.
I agree, I don't really complain about dlc on maps and stuff (cuz those are kind of worth it) but IAPs in Lets golf 3 was ridiculous, I'd rather have a game at 9.99 because u usually end up with more than that in games with so many IAPs
Seriously, why would you sell a 9.99 regular game when you could just as easily sell a $300 freemium game? Hey, people's idiocy for falling for this scam created this mess. They only got themselves to blame. Fact of the matter is that nobody was buying these games when they were 9.99. If people had just paid 9.99 for Rolando 1 and/or 2, then Ngmoco wouldn't have abandoned their once traditional pricing model in order to adopt freemium gaming. And if people haven't burned stupid amounts of money on Eliminate, a bazillion companies wouldn't have followed suit. There's literally no limit to the amount of money you can fleece out of one person for one game, thanks to freemium gaming. Sure, there are people who don't spend a dime. But then there are others who spend hundreds of dollars buying the same consumable IAP purchases over and over again. Before you know it, some moron just spent $300 on a $5 game. Out of the top 10 grossing games, 8 of them are freemium. The appstore is ruin. This is the direct result of people being too d a m n cheap to pay fair upfront market value for iOS games. I don't understand why a person won't buy a game for $10, but if they get that very same game for free, they will spend $20 on IAP for it. It doesn't make sense. There are 7.5 billion people on the face of that planet. At least 3 billion of them are just flat-out dumb. And, as it so often works in life, those 3 billion dumb people have a way of dragging eveybody else who isn't dumb down with them.
Ok, I understand your concern but that doesn't mean you should get aggressive. I also don't agree with freemium when it comes to high quality games but that's how it is now and you have to live with it.
Your math is incorrect. There are 6.5 billion and about 4.2552355222 are flat out dumb. #fact. Your logic makes perfect sense. But the psychology of this freemium model is what makes it work so well. What seems better and makes you feel better? A $10.00 game or a $9.99 game? Theres only a $0.01 difference but paying $9.99 for a game makes people feel better. When they can get the game for free and have the option of paying extra for certian IAPs then they will tend to float that way. It's the nature of people to want free stuff. Marketing is just a giant mind-f**k. Its the reason why it works so well. People can get into your heads and figure out what works best and grants the highest profits. Buncha Tricksters.
Do you own the game?! Or did Gameloft give you the privilege of beta testing for them? I'm going by what I saw. There was a gameplay video on iPhone 4. It was laggy.
It won't be laggy when it comes out since that must of been either an early beta or a late alpha stage gameplay
Does Gameloft ever post on these threads anymore? I wonder why their so secretive about an iOS release date, lol !! Do they think they work for NASA??
Hey madman100 i understand how you feel from seeing the video but dont worry that was alpha gameplay you wont have to worry about that when it is released
