Its not that they shouldn't exist, but that they already do. Red Conquest is great, it fits the system perfectly.

Its people saying starcraft 2 and warcraft, those just wont work. The way they are designed doesn't fit the idevices in any way shape or form.

Probaly not. I think Civ Revolution is a great example of how to get a solid PC strategy franchise onto consoles and portables. You'd have to do something similar for Warcraft/Starcraft. With that said, I imagine Blizzard would never have that happen anyways.

I figured I should clarify that I LOVE RTS games, and have since I was a wee lad. I love Red Conquest, it was amazing, one of the few mobile RTS games I do Land Air Sea, I try to love, I'm just terrible at it :p

Warcraft and Starcraft would need massive, massive overhauls of everything to make it feasible to play on a portable system. That is just something Blizzard would never do. And if they did, they would take 10 years doing it, then cancel it before its done ;).

I still think it's amazing how close the iPad can get in terms of a fun intuitive rts experience to the pc. Sure we don't have the hotline keystrokes but compromises can be made. We can have for example notify keypad touch buttons game loft style all in small icons toward the bottom of the screen (on iPod it might be too small to press right every time but not iPad IMO). There are so many ideas I have I could help blizzard or game loft Implement as I am a huge fan of the genre. I mean already look how much better and more varied idevice rts games are compared to psp, ds, and consoles. Playing on the psp control dpad or the controllers of consoles outside the wii is even easy less inuitive than s touch screen IMO but the touch screen is worse than pc. So the idevice is kinda. Mid point IMO.

What about the wii guys. Do you think Warcraft or star craft could be good on it? That's another system I have that I think is under utilized by dev houses. I think the controller is much better for rts games than joypads of other consoles and maybe even better than the ipads touch input controls? What do you guys think? Could blizzard or any other company technically make a better rts game on the wii or o. The iPad? Both have similar graphical specs and capabilities so would it come to controls?

But why did the touch arcade front page article author claim it hasn't been done well than?

It's called an opinion. Just because Brad Nicholson hasn't been happy with an RTS on an iOS device doesn't mean there aren't plenty of people who love Red Conquest and/or LASW.

There are people who reviewed toy story 3 badly. Does that make it a bad movie??
