To hype you up even more and since we're already so off-topic(it'll change once Es_ gives us some info), I'm just gonna leave you some hyping music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwSkC85TDgY
I havent posted the video yet on my channel, I will post the link when I do But yeah mc4, better have some punishment to the hackers
This thread will generate so many posts. Makes for great reading. Still has a long way to go to catch up Street Fighter Volt which is 3000 pages +. I could see this thread going up to that many pages.
Completely agree, Should be 3 strikes and your out. First offence, suspension for a few days. 2nd offence-2 weeks. 3rd offence your account is gone
It should be: - 20 people report you, you are banned for a week. - 30 people report you, you are banned for a month. - 40 people report you, you are permanently banned.
That's not bad but your putting the onus on us where really gameloft has to tighten up their security, where upon they're detecting the hackers. Not us just doing the reporting. ( If that's even possible)
Here's another idea, hacker free servers. There would be an option in quick play to only go to hacker free servers. A hacker free server would have a moderator hosting it. If you get reported by 3 or more moderators in the hacker free servers you would be banned from all hacker free servers. The person who was reported by the moderators could repeal and then it would be up to gameloft. People would apply to be moderators at gamelofts website. Depending on how often you play and if you haven't gotten reported you would be considered. Anyways just an idea...
But what if someone reports you just because they are shit noobs? We need to have some kinda proof system to have best hacker defense but then again, most people are really lazy about it. And I think it should be banned forever
As far as I know, every match gets saved at GL servers, so it should be easy to see if someone hacked the game by looking at the stats (I'm not talking about the results screen, but about the position, animation frame, etc. of the players). If those servers could realtime analyze every match, it should be easy to protect the game against the hackers. For example, if the server detects that the fire rate is higher than the weapons' fire rate, the player would be banned. Maybe it's impossible, but it's just an idea.
Well, a modified iOS app is actually relatively easy to detect with the right server side software. So simply reporting someone and giving actual info on the match (time played, type of match, etc.) will be enough to check the server logs and determine if they have a hack mod or not. As each hack is detected, there can also be server side connection blocking measures put in. Banning users won't have much of an affect but banning ip's will. And that also can be done. Of course, as hackers hack and discover what security measures are in place and then hack them, the key will be reporting new hacks that we come across and the game being updated regularly to block those measures. In that way the servers can be set up to only allow the latest versions to access them. All of these measures can already be done but they do require a lot of work and have a fair degree of expense involved But I do think a valuable lesson was learned by Gameloft with the mess hackers created in MC3. And I also think the Modern Combat website shows a level of commitment to the game that I haven't seen from them before but demonstrates a long term commitment on their part to MC4. Of course, hackers being hackers, they will get through but if we see frequent enough security updates, at least the percentages will be lower than MC3.
Yess. I have finally gotten 1000 kills for every primary weapon. BTW, Es WE NEED YOU! COME GIVE US MORE INFO!!!
I don't think it's possible to make hacking impossible, people will always find ways of getting through. It's just how it is prevented. I like the idea of being able to volunteer to be a moderator, if you could have a moderator in about 20% of the matches, I think hackers would find it difficult to keep their accounts. Oh and anyone who is level 90 with 17 kills and 2738548198462947 points should be instantly banned. Theres no way of doing that without cheating. People were left on the top ten with those kind of stats for months and gameloft did nothing about it. It's kind of obvious isn't it?
All the assualt rifles, sniper rifles, SMG's, and LMG's. Topit it simply, every hub that is in the top weapon row when you choose a weapon for a weapon class.
