Hmm, just head over to the point and waving your hands? :/

Also, HR1 doesn't mean someone is a newbie which is in need for anyone to point him anywhere. You can't really tell even if he is wearing gear which is obtainable early in the game. (I weared Gunner Kut-Ku D armor until almost high level). I'm still HR1 because I was just doing elder quests and am now doing Nekoth's quests.
Or would you point someone at HR1 in full Tigrex gear in any direction at where he has to go to do something? :D

Why do I have HR1-3 missions unlocked in the guild hall?

What happens if I complete all the required 3 missions (Rathalos, Rathian, Hermitaur & Congala right..?) and then complete the urgent mission I get.. Will I move up to Hr4 or do I need to do all the required HR1's first etc..?

Aim for the Juggernaut first. Very easy to make, and you complete it as soon as you've ran a few times in the first few runs in g-rank, and is enough to complete the entire game.

Its real purpose though, is to help you farm materials for other end-game hammers like Chaotic Order, Desert Cone (forgot the endgame upgraded name), Imperial Gunhammer, Khezu Thunder, and the final form of the Lao Shan Hammer. Other elements arent as important as fire and thunder, and the dragon element is there so you can break Teo and Luna's crowns mainly.

I think you mean the x-stars on the missions? 1 to 3 stars are all HR1. Each star over 3 is a rank up.

I'm guessing you're offended about me saying HR1.

Basically I stand by exactly as I said. People need to be pointed to tell where to go. It doesn't matter if you're a veteran or not. If you want to tell someone or suggest where they should go, you need to point. The come over wave doesn't clearly say go here as it more implies a "follow me" signal. And in your case, it's highly likely (though not always the case) that an HR1 rank can be someone who's played through a lot of Elder missions but doesn't have experience playing with others. HR ranks can be solo'd obviously but with the iOS release, everyone is playing online.

And sorry if that offended you because your response sounds offended but yes people do need to be pointed where to go at times. About 95% of my random searches online are all HR1s and about 70% of them wear starting gear. So that's an easy tell. And most of them just run in circles around the guild hall waiting for me to do something.

If you're wearing the first couple starter armors and starter weapons exclusively and beat all of the elder quests completely, I find that extremely extremely rare. I'd rather assume they didn't do that as that would take someone extremely long periods of time to beat monsters when you can take almost no hits and dish out very little damage. And I don't see the point in playing if you're not going to craft stronger armor unless you're super elite and got bored of the main game.

    No problem! :)

    Guess what? Classified.
    Classified.
Just looked at the wiki to see what quests I need to do to get to the next village rank. I just found out that you fight a rathalos and a rathian at the same time without having previous experience with either (unless you've done some guild stuff, but my Tri training should be sufficient I hope).
    Ridiculous.

Thanks CAPCOM, it's not as if I wasn't in the deep end already or anything...

On the bright side, both monsters have really low HP, and they dont stay in the same area together that much. Paintballs help a lot to make sure you arent walking in the area with both of them in it, and the Tigrex armor's autotracker skill is pretty good here.

Actually it's easier that way. The Rathalos is most of the time on the right half of the map, and the Rathian on the left, so you will hardly ever have to fight both at the same time. Also since it's a two monsters quest, both will have less health than normal, which helps a lot.

You guess wrong. No offence intended and no offence taken. Look, english isn't my first language so excuse me if my post offended you.
I've played alot ad-hoc runs with friends back on my PSP but well, they arent playing anymore which doesnt mean I dont know how to play with others because I do, albeit we were sitting in the same room and it was easier to make some new strategies. I still forgot some things such as droprates, etc due to so many other games I've played since 2009. couldn't imagine this game would be rereleased on iOS.
As I said I wasn't wearing KKD armor all the way up to high level but almost, yes. And it is known that this gunner armor can take you into high level if you play well enough and using bows which exploiting elemental weaknesses. I just dont want to waste my time crafting armors which are mostly useless as many content is in mhfu, seriously. Plus, as a gunner, defense is less important than as a melee because most bosses will ohko you nonetheless. Since Tigrex became available I've farmed him to get the full set and that's what I'm wearing now. I just take the singleplayer as training and getting back into the game to be prepared for random multiplayer that's it.

Is there a way to change which chef skill activates or is it random? I assumed it was evenly random but after about 25 activations it's only chosen the third one, feline woodwinds, which doesn't seem very useful.

I'm sold on lances! These things are so awesome! I'm on the 2 star village elder quest and I'm doing great so far. I'm using a rampart lance now, but what armor should I start working on? I'm wearing velociprey armor currently but I want something with either auto block or guard +

You don't need to finish all quests for ranking up.

Hermitaur Armor is a good start as the full set gives Guard+.

As you get more comfortable with the lance, i suggest you look at using evade+ skills. The Lance has awesome dodging capabilities with the triple hops, and you can easily time them coz each of the attacks have a wide window for button presses, and each attack allows the same timing for dodging.

If you think you prefer blocking, gunlances are a lot more versatile with that playstyle, and their block stabs have a good high angle as compared to the Lances forward stab.

Good luck progressing with the lances man! They're one of my favorite weapons too :)

Took down that Landshark quest on my first go! Only took 45 minutes this morning before work. Man, I wish these beasts would just stand still for a while!

Just hunted a tigrex with 3 ohter players. Questing in multiplayer is way easier than solo, because we staggered him all the time and trapped him several times. I really like teammates with GS because they can stagger the monster with one full charge, that saved me once.:)

Do you also experience lags in multiplayer? Sometimes the monster is lagging or makes insta-charges.
(I have a strong connection and fast internet)

Still loving this game like mad, but I'm getting frustrated sometimes with online matches. One of the following seems to happen every time:

I join a room and its players already on a quest. The wait for them to return is too long, and when they are done, they all leave.

People join the room then suddenly leave for no apparent reason.

People quit in the middle of the quest for no apparent reason.

People are choosing 5 star boss quests and we get our butts handed to us, and I wasted my mega potions and drinks trying to keep the dream alive.

I really like the feel of lances, it's so much easier to use for me. Up till now I was using LS and even then I was having trouble hitting what I was aiming at. Mobility is an issue but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

Every monster I've faced off against since going to lances, I have killed first try. Gypceros, bulldrome (?), and yian kut ku just now!
