The fact that Capcom refuses to update one of the highest costing paid games on the App Store, even though it was only released a little over a year ago, is unforgivable. As gamers, we need to take a stand against this horseshit! By banning ALL Capcom games! I don't care how good you think they're gonna be! Hit me where it hurts. Their wallets. Because apparently that's all they care about.

Ho now you think it's a horse shit? ( no offense)
I know this type of behavior to premium games is justified.
    - we should not be pointing fivers at capcom
WE are the ones responsible for this.
Prooving them, that there new market system is working
We accept always online for video games without multiplayer as the core experience
    Dh5
    Energy meter
And support those mechanics by making inn app purchases
    The POSITIVE
now that the market is floated with freemium games we can choose which one to spend money on, therefore this force secs to compet for the money- forcing them to create attractive payroll
    However the downside is, well
RAYMAN ADVENTURES, DH5 MC5,and Manaus dishonorable mentions

    IT'S THE FUTURE OF GAMING

They will never dare pulling this crap for a certain console games.

    And APPLE

    NICE JOB!
You guys pushed your new devices as the big thing for MOBILE gamers ( metal, metal, boa bla) , and yet each of your updates break your apps. Lately Game Center is not working- I GUEST THIS NOT A URGENT PROBLEM

In the end I hope capcom fix this game for the people with the devices which can't run MHFU, i will always support capcom premium, an 2 ks premium- by the way I got an iPad 4 running iOS 9.2- I have been hunting dragons and monsters with no problems

Gameloft is in it's own grave atm,MC5 is barely in top charts of action games due to how they screwed it up with the new bounty hunter class.Same with Blitz Brigade.

Oh and games such as MHFU and Bioshock always make enough cash, they are ports of very famous games after all...I really can't wait to update my iPad 4 to iOS 9 so that I can get a few iOS 9 only games,c'mon 2K and Capcom (well...just 2K cause MHFU WILL be updated for sure).

If Apple really cared about gaming they would have some first party studios, even Amazon has . Apple is all bullshit when it comes to gaming . There is a ton of games that have been broken by iOS updates . Why isn't this happening with android ?

Capcom already stated publicly that they are absolutely not updating Monster Hunter Freedom Unite to iOS 9. Like they don't have the money to update a game that we all paid for… They knew what they were getting into when they ported a game for Apple and asked people to pay $15 for it.

Shouldn't Apple enforce some restrictions to let games be released on iOS ? It's not just monster hunter , there's bioshock, dead space , mass effect and a ton of other games that don't run on iOS devices anymore . I was looking at my "bought" library on the App Store and it is a graveyard , so many paid games that don't work anymore .

They've gone back on that, actually: http://toucharcade.com/2015/12/11/monster-hunter-freedom-unite-will-be-updated/

That announcement was for the JP version but I'm told the international version will be getting the same update.

I knew about the mention of an update in this thread, but somehow missed that article. I thought that perhaps MHFU had dropped off my watch list for some reason, but I see now that the article just didn't ping on the MHFU activity tracker.

The one lingering worry I keep having is that they never get around to pushing that update outside of Japan. I know it is a big seller in Japan, so it makes sense to update it there, but (from a corporate perspective) was it a big enough seller here, too?

The other half of my worry comes from not knowing what is involved with the update process. I'm assuming that it's not as simple as a copy/paste job, which is why I'm uncertain that the Japan game getting updated automatically means that the NA game will also be updated.

Hopefully it's just a needless worry. I wouldn't mind checking out iOS 9 sometime this year. I just don't think it's worth losing MH for, so I have no plans to update anytime soon.

    Apple seems to not care
They got the Apple Watch - it's the future ( hhhhhhehhe✌️#) Apple is almost like ea now
    , a fascinating specimens
Remember when Apple was making a big deal of metal and how they are improving gaming on iOS? iOS gaming is the next thing that would put the pc master race in their graves. Blabla
And yet they are destroying their games
They are the future of gaming
    He#######

Has anyone who is a fan of this game been able to find anything else on iOS they liked nearly as much? I've tried wayward souls, gta, swkotor, bastion and a lot of other stuff but nothing seems to be able to hold my attention like this game did. I put more hours into this than I did in almost any console game.

Thank you so much for "hopefully" correcting me on this issue. I went back and read the article and at least there is a glimmer of hope that we will be able to upgrade to iOS 9 and still play what I think is one of the best games available for the iPhone. More than any other company, Capcom charges premium pricing for all of their games on the App Store. And we are the ones that are willing to pay that pricing for top-quality games. For that reason alone, they should be willing to make the necessary updates and keep us informed of them. But truth be told, at least in the gaming world, Japanese companies are not particularly well known for their open communication.

I can't recommend anything to fill the void of this game right now. Personally, I ran to an Apple store, bought a new iPhone 6 on the eve of the 6S's release and reverted to iOS 8.4.1 before Apple stopped signing it ALL so I could keep this gem on my phone longer.

Other games that have taken my attention away from MHFU are Final Fantasy VII, Dragon Quest V & VIII, Chaos Rings III, and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. None of them play like MHFU, but they might be able to fill the void while you wait. A totally different themed game that has gotten a lot of good attention, rightfully so, is Implosion: Never Lose Hope. Pretty good one. AND, Crashlands is releasing this month, so hopefully that will be a little more MH-like.

Hopefully, for those who are on iOS 9, the update comes soon. There are a lot less people playing online right now.

So apparently there is a jailbreak tweak out that allows you to play mhfu on iOS 9. Doesn't help me because I just got a new phone that isn't jailbroken like my old but to all those jail breakers out there go check it out!
