They gave a timeline, and the period they laid out isn't even half-over yet. If we hit July with no update, then bug them.
They aren't getting anymore custom from me until they bring this game back and it's totally lame they released that before they fixed this. Go suck an egg capcom!
I dont really care about Capcom... But i'd take anything Monster Hunter that i could get my hands on. So thanks dood.
Could you share some impressions with us after you tried it? I´m not sure if I try this one. I really hope that Explore isn´t the MH-title stated in this article http://toucharcade.com/2016/04/01/capcom-launching-mobile-business-division-mega-man-and-monster-hunter-games-in-development/ Instead it should be another "real" MH for IOS (and a fix for unite).
Alas, I now struggle to believe Crapcom will go back to fix a game with a pay-once model when that premium version could affect the money stream from their F2P offshoot. Hope they prove me wrong, even if only to restore the public's faith. We're all still hanging on for that "spring fix", but who knows? I'm happy enough on iOS 8.4 for now, but eventually there will reach a point where nobody is releasing games for anything below iOS 9. As an aside, has it ever occurred that a game works with a later version of iOS but not one in between? So MHFU could suddenly work with iOS 10, say, but never run on iOS 9? I know this happens with updates occasionally, when things work on iOS 9 and iOS 7, but not iOS 8.
Since they made the patch announcement well after Monster Hunter Explore's Japanese release, I'm sure its English release isn't going to affect anything with regards to that patch. To be very frank, the money from either of the English games is pretty much going to be a rounding error compared to the money brought in by the Japanese versions. If the release of the English version of Explore somehow interfered with their announced plans in Japan for MHFU (which are still up on the site and still say Spring 2016), that would be like the tail wagging the dog. Just hang in there. Like, I kind of insinuated it from the start, but when a Japanese company says Spring, there's a very real chance they mean the second or third week of June. There are certain (unfortunately more important) things the development team has to take care of before patching this, and while it sucks for all of us who shelled out our money, it also sucks that Capcom has to re-open a finished release because an incremental iOS update somehow broke the game. I doubt they're happy about the damage it caused the brand, however minimal. Explore does make a lot more money for Capcom than MHFUi ever did, but Capcom will happily sell both if they can. And if they patched an ancient game that sells peanuts like Ghost Trick, you can be sure they won't leave a pretty solid seller like this one to wither on the vine. (and yes, it sometimes happens that later iOS versions "fix" things that broke - Sonic 4 Part II was an interesting case of that)
Ahhh, OK - I'll give Capcom the benefit of a doubt. I'd forgotten about Ghost Trick (and what a marvellous port that is, too). Guess they need to make sure they land enough whales with MHE before rebuilding bridges with the hardcore MHFU crowd. And I can't really complain about companies wanting to make money.
To those who stuck with ios 7/8 for this- has the online community dried-up completely, or are there still a few hardened survivors hanging in there? I'd imagine if it does come back, they may have screwed up the multiplayer aspect of MHFU for good with this year+ holiday it's been on. I do lay most of the blame at apple's door, though, for these incessant (mostly security) updates which care little for those left behind in its march towards total control.
This past week I tried to jump into a multiplayer hunt only twice. But both times, I got in quickly and had a couple good hunts. So, I guess it's doing okay. Most people are HR9 though. But they seem willing to hunt with anyone, because I saw a few newer hunters.
I still play the game regularly, but not as much as i want to. Yeah, multiplayer is still decent. Lots of activity on the chat.
Cheers, guys! Glad to hear that as long as there are still enough people to fill up one room, people will still keep the lounge alive. Really miss MHFU. ;(
Feels good to take down a Tigrex online again. It's been a while since I've found a group wanting to get him. Probably my favorite hunt. Bummed I could only run it twice this morning.
