My ipad's not jailbroken and it worked for me. Not sure what's different. Maybe a setting in ifunbox?
Wow really? Coz when i rename the folders on mine then press return, nothing happens and it just goes back to the original names. Tried it on my mac mini with mavericks and my dad's laptop on windows 7. Will probably do some more tinkering on ifunbox
i'd ask for a pm as well, and you seem to've done a great job on getting as much english in there as is possible, exact-psience, so do you think you could post a step-by-step tutorial? i'm still trying to get my hands on a japanese itunes gift card (offgamers is telling me my number's invalid) and i think i know what to do to get what's translated into the game based on the information you've already posted, but it never hurts to be sure ;3
Clearly more than a few people would be interested in whatever guide is being asked for so someone should post everything they can here. Iv personally never played this game but I could have access to it if I wanted and English translation would be desirable.
^Sorry but if there will be a guide, it will not come from me. The translations arent even 10% of the game. It's just the missions list that's translated. It doesnt translate thousands of materials to create hundreds of equipment. It doesnt translate the armor skills that activate skills. The gems that improve the skills and the complicated menu system are also not translated. Even with my familiarity of the game, i am struggling on the item combinations and gem system. There's no way i will recommend the game to people who have no experience in MH, or zero knowledge in reading japanese text. Like i said, i am struggling in this game, and to those who arent as familiar as i am, will only get frustrated. To be honest, i can play the game even with zero translation (like i did MHP3 before the translations came out), but i will still be struggling with the item combinations and the gems. Would you risk about $25 worth of a game you may not be able to enjoy?
really hoping for an international release. I used to be very active on the gamefqs forums back in the day. I even did a well documented SnS only run before I called it quits.
Yeah, I agree with you 100%. This is a really great series, but if you're completely unfamiliar with it, starting with this version is definitely not recommended.
If you really want to play this game and are jailbroken (which I'm sure you need to be anyways to edit the game folders for this small translation you all are trying - I've translated what I can and it's still not playable for me) then I highly recommend the ppsspp emulator!! Monster Hunter Freedom Unite plays flawlessly and is fully translated!! Not only that but the emulator has MFI controller support for every single psp game... In conjunction with controllers4all you can use a ps3 or ps4 pad with button mapping so you can change the camera with the analog sticks and not the dpad... Not only that but you'll be able to play amazing games like Persona 3 or even Monster Hunter 3rd!! I'd also be more then happy to post my emulator settings for most games (with screenshots) to get the games to run at a constant 30/60fps!! I can't stress enough just how good this emulator is... I've sacrificed 90% of my ios games in favour of psp games, it's that good!! PPSSPP Emulator Settings For Games
Its not local. I live in japan and i was able to play online. Its probably locally based though. As in japan server side only.
