I'm just frustrated I've gotten no progression at all for nearly 2 weeks and some random connectivity issue blows it mid game. I can't do random matches because HR1s are generally not going to be helpful on a Rathalos unless they're experts of never getting hit (which I haven't run into any).

Oh no actually to join parties you just enter the room number/code and then let the game connect you. You can give people your "name card" online but it doesn't have any party or guild system. You just join whoever is with you in your room.
