This is just beta, right? Please do not leave the bushes and trees 2D (looks ugly, no offense)! The only game that did it properly is 2XL ATV Offroad.
You said that lighting and shadows are just textures, than there is a lot of space in memory and a lot of processor power to make almost everything 3D!
Also, will the car physics be real physics or just animation, and if it will be animation is it going to be realistic or just an average arcade animation???

Right now there is not much I can say as well, the game is still very early and anything can change. I should not worry too much about texture sizes as I am well aware on limits on older devices, in fact those old mock up screens were only using two 256x256 textures including the car.

Physics wise I would say it's more towards having fun with the iDevice tilt steering then being a true sim, one reason why I am going along with a more cartoon style then a realistic one.

Wow. This look's promising :) How much cars and tracks, you are going to add in game? And second, how long the tracks are? I hope, that there is more content than in Rally Master Pro from Fishlabs.

Nice to see people remember this game in development :p I will be blunt and say that I am looking for a iphone coder still, but the visuals have had a vast improvement without adding polygons (I want this game to be a smooth one) i'll get some stuff together for tomorrow, the car was totally remade for a start and I been making a countryside track for a test track, it's all rather cool :)

Sorry for not showing much but it's stuff I work on in my spare time, the biggest hurdles are preparing everything, once that is done I can then place it together like a jigsaw.

The car model was improved a great deal to 1) lower the total polygon count, and 2) to add in extra parts of the car which can be swapped out jut by using different alpha later textures. The plan with doing that is to keep things much more simple then having lots of separate parts attaching to the car by the game engine.

Yes, since it takes time to make one and well it's worth getting the game running first before adding in extra content :p

That makes perfect sense lol..As a suggestion you could change the type of liveries on the car (liveries are like the symbols and company logos that rally cars have) So that people can earn new looks for the vehicle. As some may get bored with the same color and car after a while. Oh and diablohead did you happen to get my PM?

Arn't there already enough Arcade style racers on he iphone, A cartoony looking game with realistic driving would make this game unique.

They ruined the Colin Mcrae series when they dumbed it down and came up with Dirt 1&2.

I know your on Diablohead, you know you want to come and post in this thread! Were you able to find a programmer? If not you could always ask on TA maybe work together with some devs of another company?

No coder yet, it's extremely hard to find someone or people who know how to code, they are either all busy or require payments up front, something I just can't afford.

If anyone is interested in helping please feel free to talk to me, rather soon I will have a target video finished to show exactly what I would like this game to be like.

Could you do some beta testing when you get to the beta stage in development? I would love to test this game out. Thanks for the game, looks really good so far!

It was due to not knowing enough code to make such a game a reality, it was close but no cigar this time.

I'll see how Generations goes, if I have a chance I will go back to this game for sure.

Also to note this was back when the 2g touch was the fastest device out there, rather old now.
