    • My iPod's Dead. HELP!!

      Yeah.....ummm....my iPod is dead. iTunes was not recognizing it so I tried restoring. Everytime I try to restore though, it gets stuck in "Preparing iPod for Restore" and eventually just gives me a error 1611. Now the weird thing is, on Windows, it works fine. I can restore and everything. The problem is on my Mac. HELP!!!

      I've had this problem when I upgraded to 2.2.1.

      Try un-installing iTunes then re-install it.

      Then try to restore it.

      If that doesnt work.

      Put it in DFU mode.
