Since I don't have an iOS device anymore to check: Is it possible to disable In-App purchases in general from the settings app? They could be referring to that, to inform parents with kids who may or may not be tempted to spend thousands of dollars on fake currencies...
There's been no confirmation that Metal hasn't been utilised but I wouldn't be shocked if they haven't bothered to use it. Sheer laziness when the SDK has the features built in!
You can disable them in the Restrictions settings under General. With Real Racing 3 it's near impossible to get anywhere without paying some form of real money on Gold. I hope that the suggestion you can disable IAP is a hint that the game, while having IAP, isn't as heavily reliant on it as Real Racing 3. My main fear is timers. If it's got RR3 style timers I'll instantly delete it.
I also think that the game isn't coming anytime soon. They said "stay tuned to our page for more info in the coming months" on the tweet where they confirmed its free to download.
Yeah and the idiots replied to me on Twitter saying controller support won't be in the game at launch and they'd "look into it". It's morbid laziness on Firemonkey's part.
