This is great advice. I don't think a 5 year old should be playing games as a habit (though unfortunately many do these days) and like everything there is a time and a place. So as the father of a 5 year old I am sure you know the angst of hoping your kid behaves while sitting at the "fancy table" at Thanksgiving not being able to move, bored of the grown up conversation and wishing there was something they could do!
My best friends four year old snags my iPhone whenever I'm around - She loves playing Bounce On, Shrek Kart and the Spongebob Tickler app
Why on earth would you write this, I see my nephew once a quarter for a few days because he lives out of town. He likes when I come and we sit and play games on my iPhone for an hour or so. That is all. Geez. It's a treat. Now there is an great idea.
Believe me, quite a few family events have been saved by the "treat" of playing a game at the "grown up" table on holidays! Enjoy! Its always fun to be around relatives you don't get to see all the time. And by all means if there is an activity that bonds you - do it. It will be some of his most treasured memories.
+1, cant go wrong. Honestly, theres plenty of lites and free games that will entertain the heck out of him, but bore the bejesus out of you and get deleted later. But scoops should be on your iphone anyway, its a classic and good fun.
This post cracked me up for some reason! And Scoops is awesome, so +2 HOWEVER I add this caveat - don't get upset when they beat your high score - they have a funny way of doing that.
And the winners are..... I spent the day with my nephew(5 yo) and niece (8 yo). This is what they liked. Sneezies (well they loooooved this game) Scoops iBowl They did not like the easy levels of Rolando or Bounce On (it was too hard for them). So, I did not try Soosiz. They also did not like Fairy trail. This game gets good reviews and I have to say, I find it pretty lame. I must say, I might never get my iPhone back at this rate.
