MindSnacks builds touch-based learning games for languages and other subjects. We take a unique, entertainment-focused approach to educational games; basically the opposite of the dull learning games we all know too well. We’re funded by top-tier VCs and angel investors and are based in San Francisco.

If you’re deeply passionate about changing the way people learn and you thrive in a fast-paced, fun and sometimes slightly insane startup environment, this opportunity is for you. You’ll be joining a small, awesome team, so expect to wear a few hats and be treated as a partner, not an employee.

    The Position

We are looking for a talented engineer to help us expand to new platforms and increase the sophistication of our back-end technology.

You will be a core part of a small, experienced engineering team. Your input will be vital and your work will have an immediate impact. You’ll work with the latest technologies on products that are in the exciting areas of both mobile applications and gaming. You will have the ability to really own a particular area of the product suite and get in on the ground floor of a fun, rapidly growing, company.

    Requirements

Deep experience in one or both of the following areas:

    - Web back-end development, particularly in Python.

    - Mobile platforms - Android and/or iOS.

You have shipped something. We care more about products you have helped deliver than years of experience.

You write code concise, understandable code.

You care about the user experience and appreciate well-designed interfaces.

You have a love for games - whether it’s designing, building or just playing them.

You have some knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns.

You’re not afraid to express your opinions, but are also willing to compromise.

You want to work with a team that is truly excited about building something great.

If you think that you’re the right engineer for MindSnacks, please email a resume and any portfolio projects to jobs[at]mindsnacks.com. We can’t wait to hear from you.
