    Hey all
The 3D Windows MMORPG I've been working on for the past four months or so is now in closed beta. It's called Zentia - it has a humorous, almost comic-book style to it, tons of great features (for example, about 50% of the mobs in game can be captured as pets, multiperson mounts (one that supports up to 10 players!) that can be used in PVP, and a community based quest that unlocks level 40 upon completion), and it's permanently free!

Home page is www.zentiathegame.com, and you can find out about getting a beta key at this page: http://z.us.changyou.com/news.php?id=news5

    Have fun!

I would be interested but the word "Windows" killed it.

Heh, yeah, I prefer iPhone (and Mac) games myself, but it IS a pretty good game. MMOs aren't always my thing (I prefer single player RPGs or strategy games on my own time), but as MMOs go, this one's done well. Lots of great features, very little grinding necessary, good graphics, quirky humor (even for adults), and plenty to do.

Oh yeah, and let's not start a platform flame war here please :p

Oh yeah (again), did I mention there's an instance in which you participate in a war between shrimp and crabs? It's awesome goodness.

    yes
Explain to me why this is better than fiesta. (I'm not being critical I'm just being curious)

Two things that will make me dl:
    1) decent translation
2)Original quests (NOT go kill 10 of these)
    3)Not much grinding

    Yeah, that's three, surprise!

    1) Yes, we're working on a great translation - it's not done yet, but a lot of it is
    2) YES! Check this out - there are these immortals that will suddenly appear out of nowhere and give you spontaneous quests (if you choose to except them) - some of them are escort quests, some are "bad guys have suddenly ambushed you!", and there are others. There are also other quests in which you have to find people (NPCs), protect people, scout areas, and many others. Of course, there are the typical "fight these monsters" and "collect these items" quests as well. There are TONS of quests and a large variety of them. Which brings me to #3..
    3) As I said before - grinding (other than some of the monster kill quests) is pretty much unnecessary. There are so many quests to keep you busy leveling up, you just don't need to grind. PLUS, there are these dancers in each of the main cities - if you follow them, you get automatic experience - a great way to boost your XP when AFK.

As far as Fiesta goes, I can't compare feature for feature because I don't know Fiesta well. But from what I've seen, I think the graphics in Zentia are better, and while Fiesta seems to have a standard Anime fantasy look, Zentia is anything but standard.

Is this going to go on a Mac anytime soon? It's a hassle getting my other computer out...

I doubt it. You could always use emulation or bootcamp. Requirements aren't too high, so with settings at their lowest, emulation MIGHT work (probably wouldn't be great framerate though).

:( That's a bug we're having with a select group of users. It's our top priority issue right now. Please go to this thread and post your info: http://us.changyou.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6454

Unfortunately, that's one of the drawbacks to playing in closed beta. I'm sure we'll have the issue resolved before open beta.
