You're a genius. Some old farts here are saying you're a noob and posting a lame thread, but ignore them, they are all either ngmoco groupies or their employed moco-interns posting shit here. (Just check out those who kept bumping moco threads) To back you up: - EA's branded offerings are locking up the top grossing. - Gameloft's non-branded premium games are always on top grossing too. - Wildcards like Popcap and Tapulous have strong entries with staying power in top grossing too. - Big name ports like CoD and GTA (albeit from uncommitted console/pc publishers) are doing very well on top grossing. - There are very few freemium on top grossing charts on a regular basis. Tapulous free game is the rare exception but that's partly due to the strength of the songs they are offering. Lady GaGa, Nine Inch Nail definitely draw a crowd. Ngmoco's eliminate did not even stay on top grossing for any meaningful period of time. Did anyone keep track how long it was on there? A few days? 15 million burnt up, 25 more to go. I see smoke everywhere, is that something burning?
1. As has been pointed out the practice and word 'freemium' have been around for a long time. It was not invented by ngcomo. 2. So what if they are not in the top? If they can create a model that steadily sells games than I'm sure that makes a whole lot sense than burn brightly, hit the top spots then have to resort to on/off sales to get that level of visibility back. Freemium can make a stack of cash, adds when the user wants it and word of mouth may well do the rest given the game's longevity. If you don't like it, fine. But quit with thinking you are right?
I never brought success into the matter. I realise that the rolando series wouldn't be anywhere near as successful as it is, without ngmoco publishing it. But if I was Hand Circus, I wouldn't share my profits with ngmoco - I would rather publish it myself. I would lose money, but that is better than being affiliated with ngmoco, in which case I would probably kill myself I'm guessing that the only reason you and the other admin/mods are supporting ngmoco, not hating them (like most other people on the forum) is due to the fact that you get money from advertising and hyping the f**k out of their games.
LOL, when we were discussing Eliminate's pricing scheme and I said it was terrible (before it came out), arn threatened to ban me because I was not "acknowledging that the other arguments were right" or some BS along those lines.
BTW, I said Eliminate would fall apart because of the pricing scheme before it came out, so... Do I win? http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=29567&page=4 *Whistles*
lol, TA doesn't want to upset their big fat source of income - ngmoco. I find the admin to be pretty biased towards ngmoco games. Arn and Hoddap ensure that anybody who rebels against the corrupt and evil ngmoco regime is shot at dawn. Yes, you win. Eliminate's pricing scheme fails
Shesh, you all suck. Your getting a game for free, a game that doesnt even have to exist, a topnotch game that you CAN pay for but dont HAVE to, and your complaining? Sure we like to 'own' our games, but after you 'beat it' or get bored of it, then do you ever look back and wonder, why the f**k did i buy this? I know i do. Now look at We rule and Eliminate, you dont have to pay a penny. There are even special deals to give you points, and you dont like it? Woah. As they said, they want to give their games that 'flash game' feel. Where it was free to play, but you could always go a step above. But then, Touchpets just sucked TBO. I loved it, but i couldnt do anything cuz i had a dog without food. Thats in the case were it shouldn't be 'freemium'. And rolando 3 is tricky....but i love ngmoco
Neither do I. Or anything in this freemium model for that matter; and nor do I intend to. Unfortunately Eliminate is affecting me even though I have nothing to do with it, as I'm getting handfuls of spam emails asking me to join in playing Eliminate Pro. OMG that's so not what I signed up for, and neither are the 3000+ rubbish/cheat scores that now top the plus+ leaderboards in Rolando, the only ngmoco game I rate!
Hi, Anyone who has been here more than a month knows this or should know this. As for ngmoco, they make money but look to have a very bad reputation here and on some other sites from customers, but the site administration likes them and will continue to defend them. Just something to accept and does anyone want to take bets on how long this thread stays open? David

Lol, everybody is taking this thread seriously. I made it as sort of a psychological experiment. Owned.
