It's rumored to be releasing February 13th alongside the new 3ds since its been featured in the leaked advertisements for the new 3ds
Just a heads up, I've got three spare codes for the Monster Hunter 4 demo if anyone would like one. It's for EU 3DS's mind.
I was interested in possibly getting one of the new 3ds's mainly if not only for Monster Hunter and Xenoblade so I was interested and watched the Nintendo stream. I was shocked and quite appalled to see that now microtransactions and iap is heading to 3ds games (if it's not there already) I was leading towards a new 3ds for the said two games but now that has left a sour taste in my mouth and if iap is heading to Nintendo, I think I'll stay away, as I've had enough of that crap with my ipad.
Nintendo is starting to do DLC with their main franchises though, which could drum up similar IAP rage.
True but the DLC is done right for instance the Mario Golf and Mario Kart 8 DLC. It's extra content at a reasonable price not unlockalbe items, characters, extra lives etc. No pay to win IAP
This evening I thought "go for it, what the hell" and was going to preorder the monster hunter limited edition new 3ds but it seems no stores that I know of in the uk are preordering that one. Boo hiss
Any game worth playing on iOS with IAP doesn't hinge on pay to win mechanics, so it's a weird argument.
Hey guys! I just got a 3ds and am trying to collect friend codes, and what better friends than those of TA? Anybody care to spare theirs?
www.store.nintendo.co.uk have a couple of different Monster Hunter 4 bundles up for preorder. I have a few free demo codes for Monster Hunter 4 demo if you'd like one?
That's true as well but that doesn't cause rage it's the pay to win models like buy lives to keep playing or wait this much time. Nintendo is doing that with the one puzzle Pokemon game I might play it but I'm not going to pay money for that type of game just like I don't for iOS. People might get upset with that game but it's not looking like a game worth playing anyway. They are still experimenting with their IAP, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball was one game that was successful and I bought the IAP. It was more like a try this for free, like the mini games ok buy them if you want and haggle the price down. I play a ton of iOS games but really there is nothing like playing a Nintendo game on their hardware.
I think the main difference is the level of polish you see on Nintendo platforms. It's kind of refreshing to see a game like Toad's Treasure Tracker that just works out of the box with no bullshit, no patching, no apologies about online components or anything else. It's kind of crazy how acceptable that kind of thing has gotten on literally every other platform including mobile, consoles, and PC.
Wow, no standard sized n3DS in NA. Thanks for making up my mind Nintendo, at least. Not that I asked you to though. Guess I'm going New XL!
Any of you play that Rusty the dog game where you literally haggle with Risty to bring the price of the IAPs down so you can buy all the mini games? Would be absolutely brilliant if the actual game part was fun, pretty throw away minigames. The haggling was great though, extremely unique experience.
Another excellent point Eli Was just playing Captain Toad today and it's similar to some iOS games since you collect three gems and complete levels. But you are right the quality of it is what sets it apart.
