My cat and I found this charging cable while rummaging through a drawer. Will this work with the NN3DS?

Negative, Ghost Rider. Nintendo (in classic Nintendo fashion) uses a custom charging cord and port

Argh!! I thought someone in here said it has been the same cord for a long time. That was a Nintendo cable from my DS I think. Oh well it was worth a shot. Thanks for the info man.

Ah.. I looked back a few pages and saw your post about the DSi cable. Apparently my DS is one generation behind the DSi. If I remember correctly the DSi was pretty much the same as the DS but it had a camera?

One thing I know is I wouldn't have been buying as many Amiibo as I am without the crazy demand for them. I think they know what they are doing even though as a consumer it sounds ridiculous.

DSi brought some pretty big changes, including the camera. Added a navigatable home screen, as well as apps and downloadable games, and an Internet browser. Not to mention SD card support and a wonderful matte finish.

DSi also has my favorite D-pad of all time.

You probably had the DS Lite, which was another fantastic machine, a huge improvement over the original "phat" DS

You're right. It was a DS Lite.

I'm loving my NN3DSXL. I'm amazed at the 3D. Just can't get over the technology. Even the little AR cards that came with it blew my mind. Been having a blast playing ZeldaALBW. The music brings back such good feelings :) and the fluidity of Link's motions are great.

Now that I've got my eShop funds in order I've been looking for some good platformers. I've scoured the shop for a half hour and only came up with Cave Story because I remember someone gushing about it. Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet, though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone wants to be friends, send me a PM with your friend code and we can connect :)

    Edit - downloading Shovel Knight

Is the screen resolution any better that the previous model? On the 3DS from a few years back I use occasionally the resolution was so poor that after using a PSVITA it was hard to look at it again.

Just remember that some musicians do tire of digital recording audio and some go back to the older tape methods. They like the white noise and hiss, the raw excitement and energy of analog tape sound. It would be like wanting to watch an old classic movie only in digital clarity and perfection when for instance I'd rather watch Ben Hur in its original raw kind of blurry cinematography. It's perfect that way. It adds to the mood build up. So just because the new 3ds xl isn't 4k screen ready doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed.

You HAVE to get Steamworld Dig. No questions asked.

I remember getting my first 3DS (it was an XL, just last August) and the screen was absolutely jarring to me.

After about a week though, I grew to love it for what it is. Games still look pretty damn good on it.

I actually picked that up before I saw your post! The trailer looked awesome. Haven't played it yet though. Too busy with Shovel Knight and Zelda.

Soooooooo good. Arguably my favorite 3DS game.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is another must.

    Oh, and Azure Striker Gunvolt

Yep, it's awesome. Was thinking about getting some normal sleep tonight then I saw the Steamworld Dig icon and couldn't resist. Just put in a good hour on that. Also wrote out a list of physical games I wanted to get and Shantae was one of them. Along with Mario Kart and a couple others. Come to think of it, I didn't see Shantae and the Pirate's Curse at GameStop earlier. I gotta see if that's a download only game. I'll look into Azure Striker Gunvolt too. Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, Shantae is a download only. The only physical Shantae was the very first for the Gameboy Color.

All the games I listed are eShop titles, as that's where the best platformers lay.

Xeodrifter is another one worth checking out, and Shantae Risky's Revenge (a DSiWare title, but available on the eShop.)

If you're still looking to spend eShop funds, Crashmo/Pushmo are great also, the Gunman Clive games are great value, and the Sega 3D Classics are fantastic ports.
