I was looking at some threads when i accidentaly clicked on last, after i did so i decided it would be fun to look through some old threads and look what i found i know hes an admin but still.....
So avatars might be possible? Maybe if you want an avatar you pay $5.00 a month or something due to the fact that it uses bandwidth etc...
there is a option on our profile but it is disabled for probably good reasons that only arn can answer...so yes
Are you ****ing mad. It's not gonna cost $5 worth of bandwidth per avatar, per month! I know this site is popular but seriously, if we actually paid that, the admins would be away on holiday too often to actually run anything around here.
Well, considering the fact the how many views the forum gets, a few hundred kilobits per avatar in each page of a thread adds up quickly. So maybe not like $5.00 but maybe like $2.00 or something it's just a thought.
It sure doesn't cost that much. You do realize these forums allow u to upload pics which are way way bigger than an avatar could ever be. So nope. Costs, traffic or optimization can't the reason we don't have avatars. Admins have already promised they'll add this feature sometime soon. No point in creating new threads about it every couple of weeks. I personally dont really care about avatars here. What we need is Forum Spy instead
Just noticed under options "edit avatar". Tried to post an avatar but it didn't work. Is this new or old?
A small non-animated avatar would be OK, IMO. I'd hate to see this forum turn into another iPod Touch Fans, though. Perfect example of avatars gone wrong!
No sure if everthing else is too bad there but the huge n crappy avatars were more than enough to make never ever visit those forums again. TA looks so much neater than iPtf.
My opinion is that once this forum gets HUGE, and I'm talking like 100s of thousands of members, then avatars should be okay. As the forums may not be that desperate for new members, as they've got everybody they need, but would still like new members, just not as much as now (with about 24,000 members).
