Is Minecraft still supposed to be coming to iOS or was that nixed in favor of that android handset with game controls-only release?

Towns don't seem to be generating on my server, does this feature only work with new maps? If so, that sucks.

@Spamcan - Town are really rare to come by, I have yet to find one myself and I've started a few worlds. Look for a "seed" that is known to generate a village near by.

Loving the 1.9 pre release. Haven't ventured into the Nether yet, but busy sailing the world in my little wooden boat seeing if I can find a Mushroom Biome

I started a new game and found one within two minutes they just don't seem to be spawning on my server map. I don't know if it's because huge areas of land around the spawn point have already generated or if they don't appear on existing maps.

Yeah they dont appear on existing maps as they have to be generated when the world is. If you want to spawn near one use the seed 666, which is what i used.

Well that sucks because my map has too much work put into it to start over. :(

You can have villages, you just need to go to a place where you haven't generated terrain yet.

Ahh.. That would explain a lot since it's generated out quite a bit. I'll put it in creative mode and fly in the opposite direction of the explored areas and see what happens.

Towns are rumored to usually be around your first spawn point.
