I too can personally testify the game is good fun!

 

Having been given the okay to spew, I shall give out the basics of gameplay!

At any given point you'll have some 7 cards (not sure on the exact number of available cards to choose from) you'll be building hands on the endless line of UFOs coming down to snag your cows! To defeat these evil invaders you'll need to place five cards on a UFO that represent a better hand than the one the UFO is showing. Early on this is pretty easy as the baddies are coming down pretty slowly and tend to have complete garbage hands with an occasional pair...but as you proceed to later levels the UFOs get consistently better hands (while not sure HOW the UFO hands are created, it would appear that as the game goes on they're picking the best possible hands out of many cards while initially they're clearly lame 5 card stud hands).

At any given point you could have as many as three UFOs on screen at the same time descending in a single column, and, if feeling bold, can build hands on other than the current front ship. You can even move already placed cards from one ship to another but once there are 5 of your cards are in place they're locked in and if for some reason you didn't post a higher ranking hand, you're going to be soon losing a cow once it lands.

To twist stuff up sometimes the ships will come at you with some cards already locked in place you'll need to work a hand around. These pre-loaded cards can't be moved to other ships. Also worth noting that while you'll always have a full hand of 7 constantly replaced cards to choose from to make your hands, once a card has been taken from your hand to place, there is no putting it back in your hand.

To complete a level you'll need to defeat a certain number of ships before all of your cows are stolen away. Defeat all of them and you and your remaining cows will be whisked off to a new area as well as getting a quick little 5 level ranking of your poker prowess (I rarely seem to rank above the bottom level 'Fish'...but occasionally I gain a second tier 'Grinder'). This ranking is based on your points on the level with better hands being worth a lot more than a piddly high card hand and all of the clever bonuses you score (which I will leave you to discover).

Lastly, the game will once in a rare while give you a power-up as opposed to a card (perhaps based on how high a ranking hand you just created) that can do stuff like just blow up a targeted ship (without the need to make a hand when you know you don't have the needed cards to beat that UFO) or slow the invasion down for a bit.
