I play evenings. I seem to be the only inviter online lately, but I agree even when there are a good amount of people online, no one ever really interacts with teaming up; people do chat though. I wish Eli came on to grant some higher ranked members those privileges as well because they're good for it, but I'm sure he's busy with a ton of other things...
I'm on the American server "Arcadian Forest" with both my characters(as well as banker). My main character (GodSon)is a human hybrid Monk. My 2nd character (Spawn)is an undead warrior. Loving every moment.
Is there any good guide for the item creation? I'm level 43 and haven't done anything with my skill, because I have no idea what to do. How do I get bussiness currency or new recipes?
The only really good items that you can get from crafting are recipes that only drop from monsters. Otherwise, recipes can be bought from your specific craft's trainer in Greenmont, and business currency is earned through just crafting anything. The amount of currency earned goes up the higher the level of the item crafted is. You can check your current currency by clicking on your character attributes page and swiping left a page.
The two item-based quests I know of the in Swamp of Wyrms area are the letter-based one which you get from killing the any of the 4 priests in Eoltarblod, and the one based on the wand/scepter you get from killing pirate ghosts off of the coast of Port Verecy. They both start up mini-chains of quests. EDIT: Excuse me for double-posting.
Shield strike... eh... So far, the first talent point doesn't seem that good. It does a little more damage than swift strike (is that the name?), and it has a much longer cooldown 20 sec instead of 3 sec (lol 3 sec? low morale cost, this is spammed in any and every match). It seems worth it if you max out the chain talent 5/5 of stunning the enemy for 1 sec for each talent point you put in it. Is this how this works? or is it even more? I was surprised to find that the talent that boosts dodge goes 1%-3%-5% instead of what I was thinking 1%-2%-3%. If I max out the chain talent (is it 5 sec? someone answer) then that means the opponent is essentially stunned for 25% of the time. That's awesome Also if you're ever being ganked and you don't wanna give the lil' bastard the satisfaction and the +1 on his pvp kills then go to help and break away. This is abusing what is a good implemented system, but if a ? marks wanna gank me, than I disappear! Like a magician.
Whoa how the heck are you supposed to do the "Requiem: God of Death" Quest? Theres like 10 skeletons and the eye doesn't do anything? help??? lol EDIT: Nevermind got a group of people and picked them off one by one, then charged... and then died, then charged again, and sucseeded lol.
She's called Aeryn, but I'm playing on European Observer's Market server and highly doubt you'd be on the same server as there seem to be very little Europeans writing on this thread. If any of you guys happen to be there then don't hesitate striking up a conversation. Having played other MMORPG's helps a lot. With that kind of experience you know everything's not quite where the arrow points and that some quest NPC's have been killed by other players. Also instead of waiting in line with the others you're better off rushing some other quests and come back later. Also you will start taking notes of NPC names so you'll remember later where you will find them if needed. That kind of little things really make the difference. I started my char a few hours after the game was released and managed to rush to lv30ish with prolly no more than 10 people online the same time with me. No asking questions, no pvp ganking, no quest waiting, just plain gaming. Now that I've started a lowbie char it seems the game is totally different world and I liked the previous one a lot better. With my first char I had to grind the snakes for about an hour. With my second one just yesterday the tooth dropped from the first mob. Yesterday's one was definitely a summoner since I remember them little skeletons but I can't remember which one it was the first time. For all I know it might have been the exact same snake I got it from, the one roaming outside the "main gate" near which there are a few ponds and giant spiders.
I've been wondering the same thing after hitting a grinding wall in the desert and I've come to the conclusion that those powerlevelers either played 20 hours a day, rotated shifts with someone else to play the same character 24 hours a day, or teamed up with other powerlevelers and grinded through lots of mobs quickly.
That's a pretty neat idea, unless he realizes what just happened and does the same thing to teleport to your location
I would say an Assassin. That's what I played as my first character. Instead of fighting you can always hide and sneak through the monsters. Archers having only one sneak can utilize the same tactics but not quite as effectively. A lot of sneak causes less unnecessary kills thus making you grind more when you notice your level isn't high enough to obtain new quests. Also people who team a lot to complete quests fall behind in XP gain when compared to soloer. Let's say you have to kill 10 mobs to reach the boss. Soloer kills them all and gets good XP. A teamplayer kills them in a team and gains what, 60% of the XP that a soloer got.
Where are all of the trinkets? I've only obtained the spider tooth from a pretty early quest and I'm a lv 26. Also are there one's that activate abilities rather than give you a boost in stats?
OK after casually reading the abundance of complain about grinding and pvp I just had to give some of my personal experiences with the game. I just hit lvl 60 for my battle warrior a few minutes ago, gonna work with archer next. Actually I finished the Umbra Rift escort quest, I think thats the last quest of the game? at lvl 57. So the last 3 levels are just casual exploring and grinding. I dont play 20 hours a day, dont buy iAP, Im a father with kids and a full time job, i play odd hours at night max 5 hour bursts, all solo, didnt join a guild, rarely have regular friends, in fact I play like it like any other single player RPG. It took like just over 2 weeks to finish everything. Do I have problem levelling? Nope, grinding, pvp problem, nope, pretty normal to me. Some tips: Skip the stupid PVP area! I did all the quests in the swamp, back then there were not many lvl 20s, and I was able to breeze through everything, had to kill only a single attacker. But after that I totally skip vegas square, the snake temple, scorched land, etc. Never miss em. But by now, the situation should get worse as more and more a hole lvl 60 looking for pure pvp count is definitely going to hit the lowest pvp area for easy kills. You dont need the PVP area quest, the item you get is obsolete within 2 levels, and the best items of the game are not in the PVP area. So why bother with all the trouble? Better spend your time grinding, and go back there when you are much higher level. I went back to finish the vegas square quests at lvl 59, and the griefers pretty much left you alone, and also you will blaze through the quests at 5 min each. At the swamp use the teleporter, to get to the library. At the island, swim by the west side of vegas square. At the desert, you wont even run into the snake temple quest until you are almost the end. At the rift, you dont even need to spend time in the scorched land which is the very beginning of the rift. The time it took you to quest in pvp area, get killed, revenge, whine, complain, bla bla, I leveled up and moved on. Grinding. Be smart with what you kill, know how much each monster give in XP. Higher level monster does not equal higher XP. Know how fast you kill a monster, their spawn time, and once you are comfortable with it, get your kill rhythm going to maximize your XP per sec. Example, in the swamp Im killing the Zombies by Eoltarblod, easy to kill, tons of em swamp, I remember I was able to constantly kill x3, heal, kill x3, without stopping. After that I hit the library for the fish man. On the island, I grind slightly on the bullettes right outside the beach, then on the fish man on the strait, after that its the zealots at the area right before the desert. On the desert, grind on the minotaur, then at higher level, the nobles in arkan. Grinding is a part of any RPGs, its inevitable, but you can be smart about it, hitting a hard mob which gives only 200 xp is not smart. I never start grinding until i find at least a 400 xp mob, and I remember there is always a killable mob which gives 400 at any of my levels. Daily Quests; There were like max 5 levels where I grind, the rest were from quests. Remember the daily quests give tons of xp and very easy to complete. And for some odd reason, you can do twice in a day, I dont know how they reset, but I usually do them in the morning, and by night time when its time to play the thing is on again. Even at lvl 57 I still teleport to the desert to do the dailies which at 10k a pop, the 3 dailies there give me a total of about 35K xp for what? <15 min of work? good deal. At 57 to 60 I was doing the desert and rift dailies which nets about 100K+ xp for 30 minutes. Thats 1/3 of the XP requirement to level, and since I can do them twice in a day, Thats a lot of XP. And theres a lvl 58 easy to kill bat that gives good xp in the rift. Another thing is the auction house. You can get yourself some good equipment there! I dont know why people dont use em, I was buying auction items at lvl 35 and they were pretty good items which helps alot. It would take me days to gather all "of the swamp" items but using the auction house I can deck myself out easily and money is easier once you hit above 35. And last tip, since they announce you can switch server, go play in a less crowded server. Less stressful and you can level faster.
Hearing about the daily quests, is there a way to tell the dailies from the regular quests? Still pretty early in the game (lvl 15 Mage) so maybe I haven't run into them yet....
