Guilds are largely useless - the game is almost all soloing at the moment. They have not yet fixed annoying gaps in quests, or *incredibly* annoying quests, but in general, for 90% of the time, its like questing in WOW, except that crafting is terrible. Not intending to sound like I'm trashing the game, WOW questing/leveling is pretty fun, at least for a while.
The game is a benchmark for iOS. I simply can't get over how MUCH like WoW it is. The sheer amount of depth and quality that went into it is breathtaking. The storyline won't win any awards, so if Lore is your thing, maybe give it a pass, but the player environments, the open-world pvp, the random-rare drops, player-economy...it's all there. The only true things missing are perhaps more quests for folks in their early 40s (I found late 40s to early 50s to be very fast, but early 40s to be unbelievably slow), and instanced dungeons. Right now, everything is open-world. It would be nice to allow for instances that players could engage in. There are some group mechanics at the moment that are sorely lacking (threat management is a major one), but overall it is very doable. It really scratches my WoW itch. EDIT: and did I mention that you can use skype in the background while you play like vent or ts? Makes groups awesome. "Heal me" "Dying" "Watch out for that mage" "Out of mana, run" good stuff.
This game is nothing like WoW at all. All this game involves is questing. That's all there is. Questing and grinding. Guarantee you if there is an update, it will involve.. more quests and a level cap increase. Yawn. This game is dying more and more each day. Soon to be abandoned.
If you don't have this game now, you've lost it. Hm how big is this game? My PC said it would take 4 hours download now it's dropped to 3 hours within a few minutes.
Uh, more like the server will hit the largest number that Gameloft has ever seen for an online game this weekend?
I pity the poor newbies trying to get the quest-related spawns. It was nightmarish enough on release.
True enough. Some of them are impossible unless you'll willing to spent an hour trying to complete one quest. Even then..
should i get this??? cause i heard complaints that some of the quests are in pvp area and high leveled ppl kill the low leveled ppl which is annoying ass hell
Would you enjoy leveling a new WOW character on your mobile device? If so, then yes, since its an almost as good leveling experience. (Almost almost as good?) Notice I said "leveling" though, by which I mean primarily doing quests solo. I didnt say crafting (which is here, but poorly implemented), instancing (not here), grouping for challenging quests (hardly any), or anything else. I said questing/leveling. Think WOW, 1-60, but no instances. Getting ganked while leveling is a somewhat more problematic than in WOW. Certain quests with limited spawns/spawns on a timer and the like are a little more problematic than WOW quests. Again the leveling experience is "almost" as good, not as good. One can debate how big the gap is, but no one disputes that this is the closest one can get to solo leveling/questing WOW-style on the idevice. And again, say it with me, its just questing/leveling. This is really all that needs to be said on the subject. You have the info you need.
In case anyone is wondering the answer is YES. buy this for 99 cents its easily worth it. I have a feeling the update is coming within the next 14 days as well....
It is annoying to get ganked while questing and it's happened to me a few times (write down names so you can pay them back later) but you can either skip the pvp areas and grind xp elsewhere, ask for help from bored level 60s, or quest in pvp areas only during off-peak hours when there aren't many people around. Also, Gameloft is supposed to fix this problem in a future update. Anyways, the game has been very enjoyable for me and I would highly recommend trying it out.
Yeah, I finished all the quests in the game solo so grouping is not required at all. I think the hardest quest I had to do was simultaneously fighting 6 mobs that were 2-3 levels higher than me but even then I finished it solo after one failed attempt. Still, despite this being a solo-oriented game, there are some enjoyable grouping experiences. For example, my assassin was grinding level 58 elites last night and I grouped with a level 40 monk. I have no idea what he was doing there but it was fun for me to try to keep him alive. He had a much larger aggro radius so newly spawned mobs would always go for him first. Once in a while he would be running around wildly with 3 or 4 elites chasing him and I'd have to use Pin Feet, stun, and Dagger Stab to pull them off him. The irony of having an assassin keep a monk alive and not vice versa made the experience very enjoyable for me
Oh shit, just tried to log on right now for the first time in 3 weeks to a month. Where the heck is my character? Lol..all my slots are empty.
