If true, I suspect that will backfire. I haven't even launched the game for a month but started paying attention again when they announced a June update figuring it would be worth picking back up once some of the "quirks" were addressed...

They need plausible deniability here. If it becomes clear they're rolling out token updates *only* to milk another $1-$3 from people, me and I'm sure most people used to dealing with Gameloft will just delete the app or stick with a free account. I enjoyed my time with it, got my $7 worth, have no major complaints, but, so far, Gameloft has supported the game exactly as much as I figured they would ;)

It's going to take a lot more than a minor update every 90 days to warrant continuing to support them or to keep people interested.

I was afraid of that. I did manage to complete the escort quest yesterday when (apparently) all the jerks who hang out killing lower-level people were off having dinner, so I now I just need to loiter on the porch some more waiting for the next quest. Just want to grab this spider venom sac first...

It is rather discouraging that the next updates don't say anything about the mandatory PvP except for making the graveyards non-PvP, given that it seems to be a feature universally disliked by pretty much everyone except the jerks picking off people who are just trying to quest. I can see how it could be fun to have PvP areas when I was in the mood for it, but not when I'm just trying to do quests!

Of course, maybe killing off lower-level characters IS the endgame content...

Idle question: Is all the character data saved on the servers, or is any of it on my iPod? In other words, could I delete the game from my iPod if I'm especially busy some week and don't want the temptation to play, then re-install and have everything just as I left it? Or would some of my data be lost?

Your account data is all stored on the servers. You could delete your game, wait like 5 years and come back and it would probably still do fine...unless Gameloft does some sort of a server wipe.

    Update is lame. Super lame.
Even affected the chest content, no proper new quests, nothing really much worth extending subscription ... once I am 60 .... (almost there) I guess I will shut this game down.

They made them to where you can't be affected while in a cemetery. It clearly said it in the forums changelog. If you need help from Gankers while questing in PvP area's, feel free to pm me and I'll help you if your character is currently in the Arcadian Forest server.

Somehow I find annoying that sometimes I'm attacking and for some reason the character drops the target, so I have to tap on them again. No clue on melee class, but it has happened several times on my monk and mage.

And sometimes ut runs against the target instead on initiating a spell.
This bug costed me lot of gold.

I personally am Happy the blue drops are rarer(if the percentage has been increased) because the prices on the blue items were starting to get ridiculously low in the AH. Lava King's Trident for instance used to be securely priced between 75G-150G respectfully for the strongest 2H Pole-arm in-game. Now they are selling as low as 30G due to the drop rate being so easy. Same goes for a lot of other blue items found in chests. We needed some integrity so it's not easily obtainable for everyone to just by the best stuff for dirt cheap.

IIRC the dungeons will be in the 1st major update as well as the mounts possibly. This 1st update was just to fix/balance the most requested feedback from the community. I for one cant wait for them!

Yeah, the targeting issue happens to me only on the initial miss from any attack I use from a distance. I do have to re-target the enemy from that point. Can't say if I remember it happening on a melee attack. If so, it happens so seldom, it's hardly noticeable. It does bother though when the enemy is rushing at you and you have to re-target them. Hopefully that was one of the bugs that was addressed. I can't confirm until later this evening. I was able to download the update, but have tested anything out yet...

Downloading the update now. If the target drop bug is fixed, I'll be super happy (that was my biggest complaint about the game).

I'll reserve judgement on the update until I get to actually play it, but I will state that if by "new quests" they only meant a couple of new dailies, I will be a bit disappointed. I was looking forward to a new chain in the desert, even if it was short.

Downloading the update now. Hope it adds some more low level quests for faster leveling. I haven't played in forever because I got bored at level 15. Hopefully this will help me to take care of business.

First impressions of the update: It took them that long to release so little changes?

I only played in the desert areas, but did all four new daily quests. Nothing spectacular there, just daily follow-up versions of previously completed quests.

The weather effects that caused horrible frame rate drops have been removed, which is good.

Drop target bug is still there. This is the worst bug in the game and they really need to get on top of fixing this, especially before dungeons and PvP arenas are implemented.

Melee abilities still play their sound effects and animations, even if your character doesn't actually perform them because of cool downs or lack of morale. I was hoping at bit of polish was going to be in this update, but oh well.

Teleporting to greenmont takes you right outside the inn, which is nice. Cost decreases in teleports (and deaths, although I haven't died yet, so don't know how much the decrease there is) is always welcome.

I just don't see why this update wasn't out weeks ago. Because of the lack of anything really significant in this update, and the fact that it took them two months to get it out, I'm now a bit skeptical of Gameloft's dedication of supporting this game. I knew about their track record for updates going into O&C, but I was really hoping the would step up to the plate with this one. After seeing this update and the time it took to get it out, I can now see that it's probably just one or two actual developers handling the updates for this game, which doesn't bode well for us gamers.

I've been really optimistic up to this point, too. Hopefully the first major content update will not be too long from now and will bring my optimism back.
