I am not to impressed. In the end it seems like a sloppy WoW rip, without actually ripping the GOOD stuff from WoW, all in the attempt to make money. For starters, O&C is one of the few games who will be charging monthly fees AND micro transactions. Generally MMOs who are not wow use one or the other. Admittedly the fees are small, I am kinda put off by the fact that my interface is cluttered with "BUY CRYSTALS" buttons and notices. So upon entering the game as a noob, right off the bat one problem smacks you in the face, or just below it. The chat box, its big, its ugly, and unless you block all the messages (global, loot, emotes, local) it will continue to pop up randomly. Then there is targeting, its a good thing NPCs have an easy to touch icon, because I have no ideea what they look like as there is allways atleast one person standing infront of them. Also when you target someone, and you will do this alot accidently, your whole upper screen is cluttered with action buttons you can do to that person. This wouldn't be a big problem except for the lack of an escape button on the ipad/phone to clear the target, so if you are trying to target an NPC, this just made your life harder. Quests, I have a number of quest.. but I am pretty much at the mercy of my arrow which randomly takes me to either a quest objective area, or an npc to turn in a quest. You will have a hard time picking up 3-4 quest at a time and doing them in succession unless you magicly know all the areas to go to. I also had to laugh when I went to a bar to get quest, one of them sent me to a guy in a troup just outside the town, who tells me I need to find some guy at the bar I was just at! I won't hold the usual issue of opening day rush by knocking the scarcity of mobs in noob areas as 10ish people hang around doing the same thing, but I was annoyed that its hard to tell when mobs are aggressive. One of the first mobs I kill is wolved, they only attack when attacked. Then i ran into a mine of imps and kept getting spawns that would immedietly attacked. Unlike WoW, there are no name tags or indicators on aggressiveness before you get to close.
But I wish they could remove the scrolling action bar and instead just add 8 buttons around the jumping button.
Wow the first island was just like a tutorial place? That's freaking awesome. I'm level 8 now I think and on a different island. The world is expansive like no game on the iOS has reached before besides Aralon, except that this is online. Freaking having tons of fun. Haven't tried any of my other releases tonight yet. Ahhhh.
Well once you get used to it, most of it is good. I do not see "buy crystal" buttons everywhere, in fact, I have a hard time finding it. And how about you suggest a way to improve chat on iOS. A chat box can't be smaller because iPhone and iPod users need to see it as well. Either you mute them all, or you live with it The targeting is the only thing I will agree with you, it is pretty irritating, but you'll get used to it. And the aggressive or not indicator should be added as well, but once you get later in the game, most mobs will be aggressive, so just learn to avoid them all if you don't want to fight. The quest arrow is an excellent feature. Back in wow, you had no idea where to go on many quests. In OC you just need to pick a quest and the arrow takes you there. And last of all, this is a iOS game, intended to work on 256mb of ram. You either live with it, or gtfo.
You can find very good item sellers in Greenmont. Also, drops in later areas are just awesome. A lot better than the best items that you can find in the shops(typical for an MMORPG).
Please help! I am unable to login to my game loft live account for order and chaos. I even created a new one, but still get the same error: "request timed out. Please check your connection or try again later. Error id = 30003". What is the deal? My connection works fine. *
There is a buy crystals button every time you hit the menu button. ^^ Then theres the awful logon screen with the usual store/more games crap. WoW has had questhelper for many years now, and as of atleast 6 months ago, maybe a year, WoW has had its own version of questhelper built in that gives you an arrow the the closest objective, and showes you the context areas each quest's mobs are located in on the map screen. As for the chat screen, the option for smaller text would be nice (I am on an ipod, it can go smaller). Also maybe instead of a box, it can just scroll 3ish lines accross the bottem of the screen. Either way, a %100 improvement would be the ability to click it to do a show/hide type deal. It sort of does that now but it auto-showes itself when ever there is new text. Also there is no text history, which is just retarded.

just got this game today, will play on the iphone since i dont have an ipad right now. what's the TA guild and how do i join?
Played the game for over 4 hours today. Not even embarrassed about it either. How many iOS games can I say I've done that with in the past 2 and a half years? None. Gameloft is back at the top of my list for iOS developers. They never fail to push online gaming on the iOS further. Shit, I don't think I've even played 4 hours of games on my iPod in one day before. New addiction? Hell yes. Terrible for my backlog? WGAF. 5 stars.
which classes do u guys like? warrior to battle or guardian? which town to get or buy pet? how about higher level weapons?
AghhhhHHHHhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Screw this, I don't care if I'm not gonna have wifi in three weeks, I'm buying this game now!!!
After another day of playing, I gotta say I'm hooked. Unless there's a timer somewhere, I'm not sure how many hours today, but quite a few. Each individual element isn't very strong, but put them together and its a great experience. Not the best graphics, usual GL voice acting, passable writing, clunky controls. Maybe this doesn't have the WoW soul, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't need it; it has it's own. I did manage to peel myself away from it to play gears for a while though, and I suggest everyone else do the same
I play guardian warrior, but right now with a 2h sword. Guardian has charge and can extend the hp regen for 3 seconds, both invaluable.
