I can't think of any mmo where the monk class wears chain mail or otherwise I bet your class will get some elite devastating up close attacks at the end. Stuff like 5% damage reduction on block? I can see it being a life saver on hard hitting mobs.
The game seems very shallow IMO, especially without the content most MMO's have. Feels very rushed. Even the talents are very blah. I'm assuming they want to see how well the game does before investing more time into endgame. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and keep leveling.
I started to go Divine Monk but I think i'm going to do a combo of divine and warrior. Get the good group heals and get some good offensive too. That way I can solo and still be a good group healer.
I just completed the quest that gives me an option of choosing Tailor, Leather, or Blacksmith. Any suggestions on which one to choose. I am a Ranger.
You can also buy some with gold at the huge city.(sorry forgot the name) There's a per vendor and the cheapest you can buy is a wolf for 2 gold. Though you should now that they are simple vanity items, they do not fight or level up.
really wish I didnt have to agree with you. But I do. All we can do is hope though right? IMO if gameloft plays their cards right they are sitting on a gold mine with this game.
I'm glad they dont have raids at the level cap. Raids simply wont work on this platform. What if you're on a boss and someone gets a phone call? The group dies. What happens if someone's battery dies while on a boss? The group dies. I see it as being nothing but a frustrating experience. End game content should be like the rest of the game. Mostly solo.
Its more of a glass cannon, and right now the mana costs on heals is pretty high as you can't really downrank them like you can in WoW. Once your'e out of mana, you're kaput. My issue isn't with casting dps, its the capacity to actually melee dps in the alternative battle spec while wearing cloth. Its like trying to fight in melee range with a shadow priest, which at least has a way to fear adds.
Yeah, I was hoping maybe the ability to use leather like a druid can. I've been putting my points into talents that increase HP, the poor man's armor
I am disappointed so far, and I am only level 18. Repetitive quest design, poor graphics and bugs, this is a pitiful attempt from Gameloft. I will keep playing, in case it gets better (doubt it). In the meantime, fix this game Gameloft. We should stop saying "this is awesome, for an iPhone game". It only makes Gameloft and other devs lower the bar even more. This seems to emulate WoW, but it is really far from being a success. They must show their commitment to their games, and prove this isn't just another cashout from the clone factory.
Disagreed. Big time disagreed. There should be some solo content sure, but there should be a couple raids / instances / whatever. Bosses that require a group to kill. preferably with some strategy
In any MMO that I've played the first few leeks are always full of repetitive quests though it would be nice to have a dungeon or any group quest in there by lvl 20. The graphics are poor? Really? Are you expecting Infinity Blade graphics? The draw distance would be two feet and the fps would be a 10 in highly populated areas. There is definitely room for improvement and tweaks as there always are with MMORPGs but saying is a pitiful attempt by Gameloft is ridiculous. I love it when someone creates an account just to rip on a game though. So you've got that going for you. Which is nice.
Unfortunately, this is the Gameloft MO, and the chief reason I wanted to muster the willpower to stay away for a month or so to see how the early adopters were talking after they knocked the shine off the game. Due to poor resistance skills I wound up being one of those early adopters I see this as a big experiment for everyone involved, including the company who themselves must know they're completely out of their comfort zone. Fortunately, unlike most online games, even if I go ahead buy some runes to unlock another character slot, I'll only be out around $12 at the end of the initial 3 months. I'm enjoying what I'm doing even if it's nothing new or innovative. If Gameloft learns some new tricks, I find an online game that entertains me until I get sick of it, or if they stick to their usual ways I have a good time until I get sick of it (just much sooner than in the former scenario). Either way, I get distracted and they make a little money, kind of how these arrangements are supposed to work.
Loving this game so far. Lots of potential. I'm "Toneii" on the Arcadian Forest server. I sent you an in-game message, Creepshow... looking forward to joining the guild!
So how do you solve the problem I mentioned of people's games being interrupted because it's being played on a phone? You can't just pause a raid boss fight if someone gets a call or a text. On a computer MMORPG, all you have to worry about in terms of people going afk during a fight is if their internet goes down or if they have a bad case of diarrhea or something. On a phone, it becomes a big issue.
Fair point, but if someone wanted to badly enough they could play with their phone in airplane mode when they sit down for a 'raid night' raids might only last an hour or so vs Wow raids which can last many many hours. People playing on Ipad1/2 wont even have this issue anyways, so it is definitely doable.
Yeah that might work for yourself, but you can't assume that everyone in the 10, 20, or 40 man raid is doing the same thing. In a tough raid boss fight, all it takes is one dude getting a phone call to wipe the group. I just see it as an exercise in frustration, unless the game could somehow guarantee that everyone in the group was either in airplane mode or on an iPad.
