I don't mind money lost on death if we can bank current cash, reminds me of PSO on the dreamcast back when it first came out, on death you dropped your current weapon and all meseta you had, was a bummer but you could also choose to bank your items so it was balanced.
They did choose: PROFIT! You should have noticed by now the choice to resurrect for a mere 1 rune stones, or around $0.15 USD. So, you get killed you choose your poison - in game money (= certain amount of your time) or a rune (=a certain amount of your time). I don't *like* the system (who wants to lose money for a lag death?), but I have no big issue with it. On the other hand, you *can* put money away - just send it to an alt through the mail if it's such a big deal to you.
Sending money to an alt through the mail isnt super practical as you get money with every quest turn in and there isnt always a mailbox. AH + quest rewards and I'm slowly pulling ahead despite deaths, 3.75 golds at level 17, +1 gold used to purchase a bigger bag. I have a lot on the AH and will have 5 gold by tonight I bet. I actually like the death penalty, it forces you to be careful and is less annoying than long graveyard runs in WOW.
Or you could ask a level 15 divine monk to join your team, they can learn resurrect around that time. I've found that graveyards are generally very close to where you were. There are tons of them. Maybe later there'll be larger areas without them, idk. But so far it always seemed to be the better choice to resurrect in safety not too far away... Very good point.
Im at 25 now and getting kinda annoyed. It's becoming the norm for mobs to become unlootable after killing them. For every 10 or so that die, I can loot 1. Less money coming in, but the death penalty is getting close to 1g. Also have yet to kill an elite that I could loot. Yet in the tips it says they drop better loot.
can you switch characters? i'm having a little trouble hitting things as a archer. ( might have to delete the character & start over if i can't switch) thanks
You don't have to delete your character, you can just make another, you have three character slots, but you do have to start over.
Couple of questions from an MMO noob here, so bear with me. I'm currently level 9 and just chose to be a Blacksmith, what does that do and how do I make stuff? Also, what are classes? I'm a human warrior, so is that my class or is that something completely different? If so, how do I chose my class? Cheers. EDIT: Also, how do I fast travel?
Yeah, this too, I'm at the same part and I can't figure out where to go next, I completed all the quests in the area I could find.
Skill list? Has anyone started a list or know where to find a list of skills for each class? Not talents but the skill books you buy or earn. Trying to determine my class to main and wish I knew all the skills you get before deciding.
close to 1gold for a death near level 30? damn that's some punishment. I've killed a quest boss at level 12 and found some level 18 items on him like a really good necklace, only good stuff I have found outside of a few level 13 weapons.
Two days in and the warts are starting to show. *Really* making me wish Guild Wars 2 would hurry up and get itself released, because this game is a good example of why I haven't played more than a month or two of any MMO other than GW in over three years. The further in I get, the clearer it is this is just another Chinese/Korean free to play MMO, it's only novel part is that it's on iOS, not quite free to play, and looks worse than the PC counterparts - well, and it does look like the localized text was done by a native speaker, that's a change - otherwise, it's just as poorly documented, with just as many quests that go nowhere, with just as much pay to play upper tier stuff, etc.. Never mind that I'm pretty sure 3/4ths of the conversation taking place on the American servers is in Korean (it might be more, I keep putting the people typing in Korean on ignore, but it's still at least 30%-50% of the lines of local chat that pop up). Maybe there's a reason Gameloft isn't pushing this much yet?
Monks seem OP as hell right now. Maybe cuz I'm still a lowbie at 20 but dueling anyone is a joke. I just power heal till they OOM or I rock them with enough damage to die. I'm purely focused on mana retention and fast heals so the bottom bar and the middle. I rarely die to mobs and with the mind control you can fight insane large groups.
For a first attempt I think it's really good, it can be much better but it's already a fully open mmo world compared to last years pocket legends which is dungeon instance based. For £4 so far you get a fair bit, yes novelty of playing it on an iphone/pad is there but it's doing the job well, reminds me of some early 2001 mmo's I use to try on my pc, and if gameloft do support this game like they say I hope they can improve the access to the main city via more teleporters, right now that place is way out of the way for high end players.
I had to stop watching GW2 videos because they're making me drool and lust for the game way too much. This is one game I know I will like and will live up to the hype. It's going to be that good. Can't wait. I agree with the points you make about O&C, I'm just taking it for what it is. I'll keep leveling and getting my guy geared when bored and just hope GL updates it.
I wouldn't have a big of issue with it if some of the cemeteries weren't surrounded by higher level enemies. I went through five Rune Stones just running far enough from the cemetery to stay alive.
