Picking Up Chicks Is Hard When Your Car Is A BMX
The successful Flash game, Picking Up Chicks Is Hard When Your Car Is A BMX, is coming to iPhone! Well, that's if Apple approves it. It's currently awaiting review.

    Some background:
Picking Up Chicks Is Hard When Your Car Is A BMX was written in ActionScript 3.0 and the Flixel engine.
It went on to score over 10,000 hits very quickly, and it got pirated to hundreds of dodgy Flash game sites. Instead of getting angry or writing a diatribe on piracy in the games industry (it's been done many times on Gamasutra, Ars Technica, by 2D Boy), I decided to open source the game.
The Flixel engine is already open source, so I threw the whole chunk of code out there for anyone to mess with.
On top of that I licensed the graphics as Creative Commons. So you can go ahead a remix my BMX guy, the girl and the Sydney skyline (just remember to quote your source!).

When the iPhone game becomes available, the same thing will happen.

Has anyone had any experience with Apple and licensing their work using Creative Commons? I want to include the CC logo but I am a bit worried of rejection by Apple.

The code will be released into the wild, and the graphics will again have a Creative Commons license for remixes, and derivative works. The music is also licensed in a similar way, in fact, you can even find remix stems here: http://initials.bandcamp.com

If you're interested in the original Flash version here is the link:

And stay tuned for the iPhone version (fingers crossed).
