David Gilmour and Roger Waters played together at a secret gig in Oxfordshire on Saturday for the Hoping Foundation Benefit in front of just 200 people! Some pics on novelist and Floyd lyricist Polly Samson's site. http://www.pollysamson.com/
For Gilmour lead albums I'd rate it this way (keep in mind I think they are all great ) 1. Animals 2. The Wall & Dark Side of the Moon 3. Wish You Were Here I also absolutely love Roger Waters solo projects (Pro's & Con's of Hitch Hiking, and Radio Kaos).
not really - I give all music a fair shake not depending on its fame or lack of. I mean every musician has the same twelve notes to work with.
Classic Floyd: Gotta go with Animals, putting WYWH in 2nd. Gilmour-Floyd (or as a friend of mine called it, Pink Fraud): A Momentary Lapse of Reason. I don't care what anyone says, that is a damn good album.
Mentioning Roger's solo stuff, it's amazing that both Doug and Roger have put out such great stuff after the split. Noone has mentioned 'The Final Cut'. My favorite cut has to be a song called 'One of These Days' off of Meddle. Anyone who thinks that song doesn't hold up to anything today is just not getting it. And it was recorded in 1971! By the way, 'When the Wind Blows' is an intense flick!
cool - remind me to check out Rick Wrights solo stuff what about the Nick Mason solo stuff (Fictitious Sports)
hellz ya! Floyd has been my all time favorite band since I was a tweenager. That's a long time. Fav. albums: A Saucerful of Secrets, Momentary Lapse, Wish You Were Here, and Division Bell (memorable because it was released my jr. yr of High school and I listed to it over and over and over)
