Wow. If $2.99 is right, then I will have spent a grand total of $20 to buy the game for three platforms - Mac, Windows, and iPhone. Well done, PopCap.
this one is destined to dominate the charts for a while with a price like that...but is anybody else very weary about it being so cheap? let's see what this bad boy comes with, and how it plays/performs...
wow $2.99. Must be an intro price. But great now I know and I can buy other games without having to worry about how much to reserve. I just hope the game isn't stripped down.
LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going on a school camp the day this comes out, and I won't be able to play it for a week... Ive been waiting for this for months! Here's a list of how gay it is that I'm going on camp; -My copy of Bioshock 2 is arriving tomorrow -Verruckt is releasing tomorrow -Plants vs Zombies is releasing on Monday SCREW YOU SCHOOL!!!
Personally I'm a bit dissapointed, I just found this German review here. The score with 85% is nice, but two complains I'm not really happy to hear. 1. They complain about the choppy framerate on the iPod Touch 2G later in the game, if there is much going on. Don't know about 3G/3GS and 3rd Gen iPod, hopefully it will run fine on those devices, but anyway they do report that it is not such an big issue, just a bit annoying. 2. The bigger issue for me: They have cut the content of the game down for iPhone. They report that all 20 mini games are missing, as well as the puzzle mini games and the special zen garden. The adventure mode is still available and after finishing that one, you'll unlock quick game, but that's about it. No new content but missing one. They don't know if the other content will be added through DLC or not.
They're cutting Zen Garden? That was what I was most excited for since I have beaten the game on PC multiple times. Oh well. Still worth $3.
They cut nearly everything down to the main game mode. The review isn't very compromising and cheerful... Even on later iDevices like the iPhone 3GS / similar iPod the framerate drops and the game starts to jerk around. Especially when there are a lot of objects on the screen... Game has big problems with the framerate and runs smoothly only in the first minutes of every level. Darn.
One of the IGN editors tweeted that their review is going up today. I don't recall exactly what he said but I think IGN likes it more than this German site.
Just talked to Andrew (who has the game) and I can at least vouch that the Minigames are present... he said it has everything the PC game had. He also said the only framerate issue was when the screen gets cluttered...
Thanks for the clarification. I don't mind the game not having Zen Garden but thankfully it has the mini-games. Do you know if it has survival mode?
Here's IGN's review, along with a video. Speed looks fine to me, but I assume that it's on a 3GS. http://wireless.ign.com/articles/106/1068950p1.html
According to IGNs's review survival mode, mini-games and puzzle levels are not included in the Iphone version...
Doesn't sound too promising at all but I'm giving it a benefit of the doubt. I trust TA more than any other sites to give me the 'real' rundown.
