I too live in Singapore but seriously, $13 for a good game isn't that bad. DS and PSP games are over $30.

I'm guessing your guessing he's guessing.

I think he means since PopCap is planning for a December release, that would mean coming out within the next 2 weeks.

Well yes, Popcap said (in the youtube vid) that it would be out in December, ie: a couple of weeks.

Really enjoyed the game on PC, and I think it's been long enough now that I can probably have fun with starting it over.

Only problem I have with Plants vs. Zombies, as opposed to PopCaps' other games, is that the replayability isn't as good. The pick-up-and-play style of Peggle and Bejeweled is not really there. I can pick up Peggle, pick a level, and have fun from that point. Any level, and I'm having fun. Same with Bejeweled, pick it up at any time and never feel like I need to catch up on progress or anything.

But with Plants vs. Zombies, to me anyways, it's a very one-off affair. You can pick it up and play from where you are at, but what if you stop playing for a while? You may actually have some trouble with starting off from that point, so you will go back to the beginning to get your bearings straight again.

I don't know where I'm going with this. But I do feel that Plants vs. Zombies, while really fun the first way through, doesn't hold up so well for me on multiple playthroughs. It doesn't have that same casual charm that PopCap puts in a lot of their other games that I've played.

    Damn.
A friend of mine knew I've been eagerly awaiting this one and pranked me with a link here to say it was out today! Any word on a timeframe for this or World of Goo?

well, truly is a bummer but i guess it's better this way than releasing a product that cannot hold up to the high expectations most people have towards popcap.

Plants vs. Zombies is one of the very few Tower Defense Game i enjoyed playing on the PC. I´ll for sure get it for my iPhone as soon as it arrives in the Appstore.

    That's typical Popcap

expect to be playing it next summer.

They could have had it done months ago but this is a company that spends too much time with their thumbs inserted

Take Peggle for example - We were promised music back in may.
Peggle doesn't have the fanciest music either, in fact, it's borderline midi.

That sounds like less than a week long job to me, and Yes, I do know what goes into it.

Yet they release Chuzzle and charge WAY too much for it. There isn't 5 dollars worth of game there (relatively speaking)

Meanwhile, everyone is waiting for Peggle Nights and PVZ

I know what you mean. I play it all the time with my twins. But I’m afraid it would be basically the same. Anyway, I’ll surely purchase it. :)

    McDonalds! French Fries anyone?
At that place... with those... people...
I can't wait for this to come out! This was one of my favorite games when I had a PC. Btw, for those who are complaining, would you rather have a crappy, dumbed down version of PvZ by Christmas, or PvZ with brilliant controls and smooth gameplay in late January?
