Yes let's leave the petty arguing about Apple elsewhere, we are all upset this game isn't out but feelings beyond that are for other threads imo
We like the fox too Agreed... on the Short List! Currently re-textures that get cooler and cooler. We'll be implementing new meshes as we go. We believe you are correct. We are as anxious as you to get it out. It will come when it does, please be patient with Apple, those app-approval guys are extremely hard-working blokes. We'll give you a sneak-preview of a couple of upcoming content packs: one which takes place in frozen forests and ice caves, and one which takes place in an ancient swamp. What other scenarios/ locations would be cool? What else are you guys curious about before the game releases on iPhone? - Mummy Island - a place where are numerous spawns of Mummies to grind up on - Crow's Castle - haunted place, where ghosts and ghouls are hiding behind every corner. Another chance to grind up. I have asked this question several times before but I did not get the answer yet: while in team, are all team mates sharing experience from killing monsters? Is it possible to invite, so called "noob" (newbie) to the team and level him up gaining some gold, loot or Respect Points (if any)?
I've been loosely following this game and like many of the other users im checking the app store every chance I get! The snow region and swamp are cool ideas. I think a desert area and maybe a lush forest and like an island area would be fun. Kinda generic I guess but still fun! I'm sure more classes and more races have been mentioned but as far as the three current races I think it's very promising.
Yay, guilds! Are there armor sets for each class in the game? Maybe set bonuses? And if you give bear some badass plate armor or the enchantress some immaculate robes then i'll buy ALL your content packs! (Not like I wasn't going to anyway xD) And if you can give us sneak peeks, screenshots or video, that'd be great. It'd definitely make this wait a little bit more bearable.
On the casual side of the answer, how about: A desert (sandy dunes, baking sun, sparse vegetation) Around a volcano (lava flows, cracked ground) An abandoned city (old haunted castle, overrun by thieves) A wide-open grassland (wandering packs of animals, flowing tall grass) A beachside or oceanside (waves and ocean to one side pinning you to a beach, lush vegetation) I'll be honest and say I know very little about this game in terms of world content. Something that's always taken my fancy for MMO games is the lore of the persistent world you're playing in. Something I'd like to see, is areas that are themed heavily based on the monsters that are in them. So let's take a game like World of Warcraft as an example many people are familiar with. When you're in a zone that's filled with Trolls, you're bound to see encampments that have trolls in them sure, but you might also find troll villages that have troll architecture. You might find a giant troll themed temple, you might find packs of troll mobs that are guarding the roads. Sure you're bound to run into other monsters, but at least you know that the general theme of the area is "this is troll country". If you're near a human town, human architecture is prevalent. You'll find human patrols on the roads, human graveyards off the beaten path, even wandering humanoid monsters (such as cursed humans, anthropomorphized animals, or ghostly humans). It would be nice to see that tie into this game somehow, and not just in the sense that "you're in an ice cave, so now you're fighting ice bats". I would love to see the quests be relevant to the area, but also to tie into the area's lore to make it more compelling to be there. Are you helping a town out, by clearing a cave of ice bats? Excellent, go clear the ice bats, but will you find that the cave is filled with yetis? Why not, let's clear the yetis out, until we find that the yeti chief has kidnapped the town elder's daughter and is planning on throwing her into a lake. Well now we're part of the story. Through simple area theme, a bit of dynamically written quest copy, and some semi-interesting plot schemes we're slowly drawn into the game. It's the lore of the game, the backstory that may seem so light on the bottom line, but genuinely keeps a lot of people interested. Even if they're taking it in subconsciously... they may not know they're interested in the plot of the game, but if you were to strip that story out they would most likely see an emptiness where the world they were in once felt somewhat alive or interesting. All of that being said, the zones and their associated themes and locales can be just about anything, as long as they're somewhat interesting. You could turn just about any location into something fun and interesting, with the right sub-text.
Spacetime, i'm interested to know, in relation to the characters, what kind of size bosses could we hope to see? Are they similar size to your character or could they in future be much larger?
Agreed. I always liked quests like "Fing & Destroy", "Find & Bring", "Find & Solve" etc. Why not, if the reward is good But seriously, I am also for some more ambitious quest. The best ones constisting many quest items, some logic thinking requirements, wchich could me completed in a team only. It would work well on teams system, make them more loyal to themselves and needed to each other. I am talking here not about short-term quests like, those mentioned, "Find 10 ice bats and kill them, then bring me their teeth". I mean here long-term epic quests like: "Unce upon the time, there was a warrior called Janji. Janji used to be the best fighter in the whole country, no one could stand against him and win. The legand says, that his skills came from magic sword he found in the Ancient City. This sword was called "Giant Chisel" and had great power of gathering giants' souls. Unfortunately, at the age of 89 Janji was going back home alone from his long trip to the King. Suddenly he was attacked, robbed and killed by a group of marauders. They stole also "Giant Chisel". The legend also says, that those bandits were killed my 5 orcs who had no idea what "Giant Chisel" is and sloshed it into 5 pieces. All of them were sold as jewelery, every in another part of the world... The rumour says, that trader Giri has something similar to ide of "Giant Chisel". Check it out...". Isn't it more attractive? It would take months to find all five parts and complete "Giant Chisel"...
From what I've seen in the beta - yes. If this hasn't changed, your first couple of levels can go by really fast if you managed to jump in with some higher level players on your first game... Feel free to correct me if this has changed in the full version. (No iPad yet, I'm waiting just as much as you guys!)
I would like to see a large factory/warehouse, populated by evil monkeys wearing hi-vis jackets, gorillas in hi-vis when you get to the harder part, and one driving a big forklift truck as the dungeon boss. If you have more than one boss, I guess you could have a foreman who runs to a loudspeaker or whatever and calls in other mobs to come and attack you. I'm sure you creative genius' can add to this idea imo ideas like this that are thinking out of the box for this genre of game would encourage a lot of people to continue playing edit: Since Monkeys can use tools in real life, it would also make sense that they are the technological species in the game world Regards to the powerlevelling, i'll probably only be looking to play with similar level players, getting boosted in a game when you don't have skillz yet = bad times!
This is amazing! I'm not sure SpaceTime are going for an overworld sort of game but if they do in the future, that'd be fantastic. Right now the game has one town and everything else is an instance, or a dungeon to "crawl" in. Whether they decide to expand on "free-roaming" areas remains to be seen. Maybe an idea would be, when the population of the game rises, have a huge city put in place? Like most major MMORPGs, a huge city with a good socialising spot would be great. Like many people, I'm going to use an example from World of Warcraft. The decor of Stormwind City would make a nice addition. Castle, stone wall perimeters, a clear central area for players to socialise in, maybe vendors for potions, repairs. Perhaps even an Auction House if you guys ever decide to bring in trade & economy into the game. Neat! Give us big bosses, maybe some that require tact! For example; facing a big boss that let's little time-bombs roll around and they can do some serious damage if it touches a player. Archers need to root these time-bombs on the spot so that they don't run into anyone in their party. The tank warrior has to taunt and direct the boss away from these bombs so that tank doesn't take any damage. Enchantresses/Archers move in a tight pack together and stay away from the bombs because the bombs have a wide AOE damage. Healers are to do what they do best Just an example of what a boss could be like and how a party can go about tackling it.
Wow! I can't wait. I really hope that eventually from the town there is several different paths to different environent fields for fetch and kill quests. Is there a dungeon party limit? If so, what size? Can I get a link to the players list and the guy's forum name who runs it? I just think apple needs to get this app done reviewed. I hope they review. The sooner the better. I don't care that Apple is total dominance over idevice, I just want it.
lolRay is making the players list, the link is in his sig, he'll probably add you when he sees your post
I know this is a bit off topic, but I know people are anxiously awaiting release of this game at any moment. I just wanted to post something I read about Warpgate, another game in a similar situation (iPad version relased last week...iPhone version in review). Touch arcade just reviewed the iPad version of this game and said at the end the iPhone version is coming April 13th ,a week from today. Now that of course does not have bearing on when this game is coming out, but it might shed some light on the type of delays that are currently in place. I don't know which game was submitted first, or how long ago they were submitted (I thought Warpgate was submitted 1-2 weeks ago...I may be wrong) but if Pocket Legends and warpgate were submitted around the same time, I would not be surprised to see a similar type time table for Pocket Legends. I'm not trying to rile anyone up, but rather hopefully help everyone manage expectations. If everyone keeps checking the app store hourly and this thing doesn't come out for another week, there is going to be some real anger, and that is unfair to Spacetime Studios. I think it's best if people set that sort of time expectation in mind (release maybe next week) and if this game comes early, then we'll have a very pleasant surprise!
Just out of curiosity what is the limit of players on each server? I know they were able to get the required bandwith really low for an mmo. And will all players around you be rendered how they are seen on their idevices? Like will you see me the same on your iPod as I will on mine?
