Hi, guys! Nico here, from Beavl (developers of Faif, Kapsula and Moveless Chess among other games). We really love mashups, and we've been working for some time now on a new game that is kind of the ultimate mashup of games we love to play... POKER! CHESS! SOLITAIRE! We're working on the tutorial levels (rule system, being a mashup from subsystems from Chess, Poker and Solitaire, is somehow complex, ). So... In Poker Chess Solitaire player can only move J's, Q's and K's. J's move like Knights from chess (L-shaped movement), Q like Queens and K like Kings. These are some tutorial levels: Also, J's, Q's and K's can take cards from the opposite color (red suits vs black suits). Players can use this set of rules to rearrange cards in the board so as to make poker hands (every one of the four rows is a 5-card hand). And there's more to it! In this level, player learns that the "Cards Taken" pile has a maximum of two cards, so the player needs to move a card from the pile to an empty slot in the board. And we have K's being checked by J's, Q's and K's from the opposite color and some more surprises! Thing is. We've decided to post our progress with the development of the game here. TA Forums are a great place full of great people, so thanks everyone and hope you like what we're making!
So here we go again! This time with a gif showing how the player can take a card (remember, only J's, Q's and K's can move and you can only take cards from the opposite color). More news soon!
New #ScreenShotSaturday! This is from Level 6 (still a tutorial one). In this level player learns that when checked, first thing to do is get out of it. Cheers from Argentina!
Yes!! Been following this on your Twitter.... Really looks great. Still stuck in Moveless Chess, and I still play Faif regularly. Looking forward to another permanent addition!
Hi guys! So we are working on the UI and this is what we are now: We're working o a level selection scene and designing levels for the tutorial pack. The game supports English and Spanish, but we're going to add some more languages in the future. Cheers!
Poker Chess Solitaire - Teaser Trailer! Hi guys! We're submitting Poker Chess Solitaire to a couple of festivals. So we've made some teaser trailer we want to share with all of you! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Note: Current Poker Chess Solitaire alpha version consists of 13 levels (you know, like the number of cards for each suit). We're aiming for a Q1 2018 release (with 54 levels at least!), but we'll be betatesting soon... so stay tunned!
So this is a Four of a Kind... EASY PEASY. (Four of a Kind is a poker hand consisting of four cards of the same rank and one card of another rank. So with this particular poker hand -and with every other- ee're going to make some levels where player has to make a 4 of a Kind hand in which the sum of all five cards must equal X, Four of a Kind including X card, Four of a Kind where the fifth card is 2 ranks smaller than the four cards of the same rank, etc.) Yes. We are aiming for lots of levels. Lots!
Thanks! We're aiming to have lots of levels with single objectives. We're working now on level progression and maps. During November we're going to make an open beta to see how player reacts. And we're announcing the beta launch here, in the TA Forums, so stay tunned!
So nice to hear this! We love your feedback on Moveless Chess, so yeah, eager to see what you think of Poker Chess Solitaire! Cheers!
So we've finished adding some logic to validate a new type of level objective in Poker Chess Solitaire: "Make x poker hand and cash in. Cards from this poker hand must add up to y". In this level player must cashin a 3 of a Kind hand and cards from this hand must add up to 17 (note that 2+2+2+10+A = 17). Cheers!
While we're thinking on adding a neat surprise to the game, we're still making and testing new objectives for Poker Chess Solitaire. In this one, player must cash in a full house and all the cards in this poker hand must add up to a number divisible by 5. Because you know... Poker Chess Solitaire is kind of card game porn. Note: Q + Q + Q = 36 2 + 2 = 4 36 + 4 = 40 40 / 5 = 8
