Can't believe how fast games are going free nowadays. Guess that means Webbies, Inferno, Eager Beaver, and Mutant Storm will be next cause I bought them this week. It's getting to the point where it's no longer good to be an early adopter. Guess I should try to wait 3 months or more to buy stuff. Weird, and this game went free so fast. Wow... They're out to fill their pockets. They don't give a damn about you. Whether perhaps you need money. What your life is like. Whether it's fair, or not. So maybe you should just stop and think before showing how "big" you can be, on the forums. How it "doesn't really matter" and hey, "the game is great" so it's ok. Because inside, you know it isn't really ok at all. And you feel slighted, and a little cheated, and a little let down. It is ok to feel that way. You have a right to feel that way and a right to express it. There's nothing "big" about volunteering to be a punching bag. The App Store as a whole is a mess as far as underpriced apps as well as inflated ones. There's days when I've gotten a game on my wish list for free and others when I spend a fair amount of money. Sure, it hurts a little when something goes free shortly after you bought it .... especially when it happens 'x' number of times in a row. Some do "freebies" to raise awareness. Since this was doing fairly well (it seemed) in the charts, this may have been a case where the dev truly did feel like they wanted to share a little with those who may not have the game. I'm also not to ignorant to think that this won't help them in the long run (word of mouth is still probably the best thing to see games on the App Store). The only thing that typically gets me really upset is when a dev changes their game that people did buy to try to get better revenue (ie., changing a game to freemium and adding tons of IAPs, etc.). If a dev screws their early adopters by changing their business model, all bets are off. But when I'm enjoying a game and got it before a sale, well, to me that's life. I DID get something for my money and have enjoyed it. Just don't mess with gameplay for a money grab....then my wrath will come down Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #19 Connector, Jun 18, 2012 The wrath of awp69... A sight to behold. Yea, I sure hope Project 83113 doesn't go that route. But with a game going free so fast, kind of smells like a conversion to freenium. That is the feeling I'm getting from Lock n loaded. But I hope not because Project 83113 is a good game, and people are lucky to get it for free. Just wish I had waited one more week, but heck, it's only a buck. I'll buy that for a dollar! Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #20 Gabrien, Jun 18, 2012 The game already contains IAP. There is no "route" to go and no "conversion" required. Pretty soon folks will realise there is no point in buying any game that contains IAP at release. Why? Because it's basically become a safeguard for developers: The game's not selling? Quick! Drop to "free" and hope we get some IAP sales! The game IS selling? Quick! Drop to free while we have the added exposure! What's that you say? If no one buys games at release we'll only be shooting ourselves in the foot and ensuring the app store disintegrates further? Right you are sir! But why must it fall to consumers only to be conscientious while developers can be as irresponsible as they like? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
