Same thing happened to Beat Hazard Ultra. It also went free, less than a month after its release. I wasn't exactly an early adopter as I wasn't aware of its release/existence at the time but what pissed me off was that it went free only a few days after I'd bought it. I also recently got stung when I paid £1.49 for Mini Motor Racing, only for it to go free for a good TWO weeks soon after! The situation sucks, but what can one do about it? I've known some people who've retaliated with negative feedback/1 star ratings, though I am in no way condoning such behaviour.
Exactly. Won't everyone realize what they're actually accomplishing here? They are positively reinforcing the already natural instinct of waiting for a price drop. If early adopters cease to tolerate this instant price drop crap, guess who's going to buy the game at launch? No one. So what necessarily derives from that? An even faster price drop in order to gain some notoriety. Only, in this case, that same notoriety will be accomplished solely at the developer's expense as early adopters were no longer available to support them since early stage. To conclude: never paying for any ncsoft game ever again. I'll just do what the developer told me to do - wait (just a skimpy little while) until it's free. Greetings ncsoft
Looking at recent reviews, looks like they are starting to get hit with one star reviews. So this policy of theirs might backfire. Am curious even though it is not worth the hassle for a buck, anyone tried to ask Apple for a refund? Kind of a price matching issue I suppose. Would be interested in seeing what Apple would say. Maybe Apple should have a 30 day price matching policy much like many retailers have.
There used to be a way of refunding any game you want. But you had to have purchased them within 3 months. However they don't do that anymore, because be abused it.
Just to rate it 1 star because you paid a buck for it is just stupid. I hope people won't do that. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that this game isn't worth it's money. I am just pissed - like others - that it happened so quick. Especially after the toucharcade review. It would be so great if more revs - like rocketcat games - add an early buyer discount and or benefit / extra, so that we wouldn't feel bat about a sale. No matter when it's going to happen.
I actually think that's a great idea that would spur more robust early adoption anyway, and is a real win/win for everyone. When you're working up the first build for release, consider developing an extra bonus in content or access for your first wave of buyers. It needn't be anything huge, although you'd win a considerable amount of goodwill if it were, naturally.
Lmao!!!!!!! I bought this the day it came out and still did not get a chance to play it. I use to get pissed off at devs for doing this crap. But it's happened so many times that I kinda expect it. It's only a buck.
Yea I tried it for 5 mins and I'm like.... This is it? Turned it off I'll try it again later but unless it gets better I don't see this on my device to much longer
i hate when devs do quick sales like this BUT the way i like to look at it is, i am supporting a good game. (this only applys to good games btw that go on sale) like this one. i like this game alot. so im glad i was able to support them.
Nope, you aren't the only one. I do actually hope people rate it 1 star for paying for it so the Devs will know what's up, and that they can't abuse us like that. They dropped it to get more positive rating? Ooops... gotta listen your paying customers sometimes!
That's just silly. You should rate a game based on the game only and not because of the price model or price politics.
Lots of silly anger in this thread over a buck! I finished the game today, and I thought it was very good...definitely worth a buck. In a few places, they push for a level of precision that their controls aren't really cut out for, but overall, it's innovative and polished. I'm going to leave a good review just to offset the whiners.
Not in the least. But I'm not at all surprised you couldn't grasp the substance of what was being discussed. Wow, your mother must be so proud.
By the way, just moments ago Apple conceded me a refund for this particular game on grounds of dishonest behavior by the developer/publisher (first time I filed for a refund since who knows when). I guess our "whining" isn't completely unsubstantiated after all. I advise those who agree with my standing on this issue to do the same. En masse
It isn't silly at all. It's the one tool we have as consumers to voice our dissatisfaction and we are free to use it for any reason we like.
