God, does this PSP suck. Because all PSP Minis lack network features, if the game is released with a bug then guess what? No updates. And what if you decide to download a game from your PS3 then transfer to your PSP Hoe errr...Go. (which btw, is a Sony supported feature) no luck. And man, do I REALLY want to play the UMDs I bought for my old PSP? Sorry. I have to rebuy games I already bought. And Sony was kind enough to change the PSP Don't Go entire inside to make sure that the old cards, chargers, and plugs don't even work with the new PSP No. That's right I can't even use Sony OWN propriatary format on their own device. And the price, 250? I could buy two DS lutes and almost a PS3. I'm sorry Sony but please get your PSP Go out of here.
"Hey! I have a new way for us to make money! We take our old system, add one pointless feature on it, and market it as a whole new system for double the price of the original!" "Brilliant!"
never said it was just sony :3. This has been done countless times and every major electronic company is guilty of it
I agree verizon sucks and Sony needs to rethink the way they do business. Apple has actually taken over the handheld market... who saw that comin!
The new iPods (and iPhones) tend to cost the same as the previous generation, with more power and/or features. My first iPhone cost me $499, for 1/6 of the power of my 3Gs (which cost me $200 less). That's the difference. Oh, and by the way, I already own a PSP 1000 -- don't play it that often, don't see a reason to "upgrade" to PSP GO.
I'm actually planning on getting one just for Little Big Planet PSP. I know a lot of you don't really like the PSP but I can't wait until I get it One more month until my b-day and I'll buy one along with LBP. Anyways, the one and ONLY thing that turns me down is the digital games instead of physical games. I'd much rather have a physical copy of Little Big Planet with the instructions and the UMD than just have a PSPgo. I wish at least that you could buy the game with instructions and what not...
Alright, so I've been in quite a dilemma recently in choosing whether I should go with the PSP 3000 or PSP Go. I've never owned a PSP in my life and thought it would be a good time to buy one because Little Big Planet is coming out on Nov 17. I've been more towards the PSP Go for it's slick look and a lot of reviews say that the screens brighter and the buttons feel good and how the speakers are louder than those on the 3000. The only problem for me is the lack of UMD. Personally, it's not that big of a problem because I don't have any UMDs currently. The thing that is really bothering me is that I won't be able to have a physical copy of the game. Instead, I'll be stuck with a digital copy that will forever haunt me. However, for the PSP 3000, I absolutely hate the look of it and how it doesn't slide up like the Go. However, it can do everything the PSP Go can do such as download games off the PSN, AND it supports UMDs. Plus, it's much cheaper ($90 less) than the Go and though a Best Buy offer I saw today I'd be getting a free 4GB memory stick. Anyone care to help me? If so, can you help me by Nov 16, 'cause that's the cut off date for the preorder of LBG. They'll give me 6 extra costumes if I preorder it for the PSP 3000 if I do decide to get one. If I decide to get a Go, however, then I'll be good because when it's released in the PSN store I'll have two weeks to buy it and they'll give me the costumes. Thanks!
Another good thing about the PSP 3000 is that if you don't like a certain game you bought you can resell it. AND another good thing is you can buy games cheaper at a retail store used and sometimes even new, compared to the ridiculous prices that the PS store offers. With the PSP Go you HAVE to accept the PS store price, even if the game is a lot cheaper in a store.
I found one on craigslist yesterday for $150, I felt like I found it cheap enough to justify the higher cost of games, at least on a few. I have a feeling they'll drop the prices a little bit soon. But the possibilities of this device seem pretty cool. I just ordered an extra 16 GB M2 card off JR for $40 (thats a 32GB pretty badass multimedia player for $190), the component cords to hook it up to my tvs, and a sixaxis controller (this was my main selling point). I only have a gamecube because I've always opted for portable electronics, so this will be a nice addition to give me another descent little home console. Its sexy and fits in my pocket. I want them drop the price of their minis $1-2 and the premium titles $5, the PSone games seem fair but I have seen a couple that should be a dollar or two cheaper.
