(I hope) that was a joke, right? That's why you put "ha" at the end.....right? DS stinks, only about 5ish good quality games that are as good as the iDevice. DSiWare is a joke. So's WiiWare.
Just as long as you realise you're in the considerably extreme minority with that opinion of yours... To practically eveyone else (this includes review sites) the DS is one of the best systems out there, almost on equal footing as the SNES, PS and PS2. To say the system only has around five quality games is laughable, especially when you say they are only as good as those on an iDevice. You've clearly not sampled much games on the system (or have a very limited preference of genres) if you think so lowly of it.
I've purchased every DS system ever made in hopes of finally good games coming on. Nintendo's games are amazing, SEGA's are good, that's about the two good devs on the system I can think of. Doesn't surprise me that they have terrible 3rd-party support though. Towards the end of Gamecube they started to try to take over. And now they end up with a console named after a man's body part where every single game not made by them is mediocre at best. Some iDevice games are better. To say that the DS is one of the best consoles ever is making me LOL. 360 and PS3 are some of the best consoles. PS2, Dreamcast are some of the best consoles ever. SNES, Genesis are some of the best consoles ever. DS, Wii are.... eh.
Name one site that's not associated with Nintendo (e.g. Nintendo Power). And yeah, it's got as equal footing as those because the graphics look like they just got ripped out of a PS1. Maybe a PS2 sometimes.
I'll give you the Wii, but the DS is on a complete other level, especially with third-party software. Off the top of my head... Final Fantasy III Final Fantasy IV Dragon Quest IV Dragon Quest V Dragon Quest IX Etrian Odyssey I & II (some of the best dungeon crawlers out there) Phantasy Star Zero Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes Inazuma Eleven (footie RPG, a brilliant mix) Trauma Center series Retro Game Challenge Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor The World Ends With You Sonic Rush 1 & 2 Bangai-O Spirits Race Driver Grid Trackmania DS Bleach DS 1 & 2 (excellent Guilty Gear-like fighting games by Treasure) Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword Space Invaders Extreme 1 / 2 Contra 4 Castlevania (three of them) Phoenix Wright series Professor Layton series Meteos Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure All highly rated on aggregated review sites, and far from "terrible third-party support". That doesn't even include the wealth of quality software from Nintendo (which is another twenty-odd games). Like I said, you must not have sampled much (or have a very limited palette) to have such a low opinion of the system. You can check for yourself on the likes of gamerankings, which collect together reviews (we're talking 30 plus reviews per game) from all major sites and magazines out there. As I mentioned, you're in the the extreme minority when it comes to the DS. Ah, as if it wasn't obvious before, trolling is certainly the nature of your game, eh?
