It's becoming more and more prevalent, so called 'developers' using iXyz as app names. The latest one which actually caused me to make this thread was 'Operation iWolf' which sounds absolutely retarded. The only game with a name like that which I have bought has been iDracula, and I wish I hadn't to be honest. I actually would go as far as to not purchase an app that does this because I hate it so much.

So here is a poll on whether or not you think it's a good idea and if it puts you off buying the app.

EDIT: I wanted to make two questions, but doesn't seem I can. Please also reply with whether it would put you off buying the app.

I think "i" is getting very boring and too predictable. The "I am a Pc and I am a Mac" ads were good at the beginning. After 100000 of them, they get old. It could only be justyfied if you used a similar interface to Apple in your app. I wouldn't use it. I would try to be more creative and "think different".

When the app store first opened, it was kind of cute when developers prefaced their app names with "i" Got old after a month or so, and the novelty wore off. Now it's just so last year!
I don't think it would prevent me from buying an app that was really good, but it kind of makes me  when I read titles like iMyNewApp. Devs spend a lot of time creating their apps (except for Khalid Shaikh of course.) They should spend a little time coming up with a good name as well...

If the i can actually be used in a play on word sort of way I'm fine with it. If it's just "oh I'm on an apple platform so I'm using i in my name" then that gets annoying :p

I absolutely hate it when devs put that in the name. It turns me off and makes me think of it as a low-quality, cheap game. i-this, i-that -- i am sick of it.

why does it matter you people must be paranoid not buying a game because it has i in front of it....its the devs choice if they want an i in front.. it shouldn't effect your thoughts about the game at all

and this obviously doesn't effect a large number if people because a lot of the tops apps have i in front, such as ihunt 3d, ibeer, ifitness, itext, and isnipper...

i personally think that this is just crazy that it bugs you this much but ok, its your opinion and not mine (i obviously just stated mine)

The reason is, it often reflects the type of game/developer it has. Someone who just sticks "i" on doesn't seem like one who would make a quality, polished title. Its cliche and cheap. Would you expect the makers of Zen Bound to call it "iRope". No, because they are striving for a quality game, and that title wouldn't fit.

It all really depends on if it sounds right. It can be good, but it can be completely annoying.
