First impressions, this game is really polished, and the mechanics are pretty tight. I'm liking it so far but these games can get old for me after awhile, it's going to be a GREAT pickup and play game for A few rounds here and there... But if you like these types of games I would say it's well worth the price, I may even try out the DLC later....
Alright... So I finally got the game and played through the 4 levels. Arn was spot on. Ramp Champ is a real solid game for 2 bucks. On one hand, you can say that its only 4 games, so 50 cents a game. But seriously, the amount of polish in the game is worth more than that. The graphics, the icons (the prizes), the soundtracks, the soundeffects is all really really good. I was worried that all the minigames (levels) would essentially be the same since they all involve ramps, but actually they're not. The best analogy I can find is levels in a pinball game. You play the same way in all levels (flick a ball), but the goals in each level makes each ramp pretty different from the rest and effectively makes you play the levels differently as well. Lastly, replay value in this game is pretty high (at least for me). I can tell that a lot of thought has been put into how to best cultivate replay value in the game. The prizes look really really good and there are so many of them to be won. The prizes make you want to just keep on playing to get enough money to win all the prizes. There is a loot section where all your prizes are displayed side by side like trophies (actually there is a separate section where trophies are displayed). In this loot section, you can zoom in and view the prize in large view and even read funny descriptions about it. Well, so far I've only won a darn watering can. But apparently it was engineered by some fabled industrial designer
yeah pretty much what arn said, if you like paper toss you'll like this as this is more polished and has incentives to keep on playing but not on the boat with the high replay value
yea and their adding more it seems...its a very reasonable price with all this polish and def worth it if you like these games so 8 ramps so far with the dlc
Hmm... Yeah that's what it looks like to me. To buy or not to buy... I think I have been doing a lot of sitting on my white picket fence lately. I might jump and maybe I won't. I just don't know...
I think you'll like it Btw Dev hodapp forgot to toot so if you dont already know your on the front page of TA congrats
well the thing with this game is the regular game is not as appealing as the DLC, but you have to buy the regular game to get the DLC, so you have to add it all up and think about if its worth it. It seems like its worth a go. $4... not that bad.
Well.. I can agree with you on that. Maybe the replay value is subjective here. I can see myself playing this over and over again just to get the prizes and accomplish the goals, but if this is not your kind of thing, then the replay value will be super low, because each level just involves throwing balls at moving objects lol
Playing this game right now, I like the achievements and ticket/prize system. The regular game is nothing though without the DLC, don't even think about getting this game unless you plan on purchasing the add-on packs too. They are much more appealing than what you get with the first $2.
yup....its good. ALTHOUGH....it has crashed a couple time for me too even after a restart. maybe in an update....they can tighten up the flick action just a tad AND the crashing but for the most part.....i really think this is better than all the other skeeball type games. i think its because the goals they give you.....its a nice twist. didnt try the "DLC" yet tho....just going to wait till i finish these goals first.
