In fact Gran Turismo freaking 5 have some 2d pictures as people, an that is the cream of the crop in CONSOLE Racers games
another thing, this game have $2,000,000 of presupuesto :O (sorry im not native speaker ), i consider this one of the first true Handeld Games comparable of the ones on the psp and even early console game quality (maybe that last thing was a little too much lol, but still, WOW at the Developers )

The cars are mostly muscle ones. No Lotus Elise, no AE86, no original Mini Cooper and no DMC 12. A bit let down but still we have Ford GT and BMW Z4. No expectation from the physics department, just hope the career mode is more fun that GTMA. And the features (like damage model) will be done right.
Car choices likely are in part influenced by which car licenses Firemint was given freedom to minimally damage in game...
Me too. Italian cars are what makes racing fun. But like others have said, licensing issues make it difficult to add them in and do a damage model at the same time. Maybe they will add them in an update or IAPs or something.
Personally I love muscle cars best, so I am not disappointed at all in the lineup. Mustang GT FTW! But really I don't care man, I just want to play this bad boy already.
Pay Apple $99 to be able to sell your game and make an iOS racing game as good as this and after a year or more of development time, add the licenses of the car in. In addition to that, optimize your game so that ALL of the iOS devices are supported and the game is relatively free from bugs and what not. Finally, build a website so people can go there to look up information on the game and then make a trailer about the game to advertise it and then come back to this thread and tell me what I should pay for your game.
If it's as good as it looks I'd probably pay $15 for it. $9.99 seems more than reasonable for what should be the best racing game on iOS by a long shot.
Ten dollars for a 10+ hour campaign doesn't seem too much considering some console games sell for sixty and offer a much shorter single-player experience. Also, don't forget the online portion which should add some replay-value.
I personally hope this never goes on sale. This game is a 40 dollar product on Nintendo DS or PSP. Basically Firemint is selling a game that took 18 months and two-million Robert De Niros to make for peanuts. 16 player on-line! 30 licensed vehicles, with potentially more on the way! A 10 hour career mode... on Easy. I can imagine the higher difficulty levels will last much longer. The graphics are astounding for a portable device. We won't see anything comparable on other portables until their next generation. Full leaderboard using Cloudcell AND Game Center. All the iOS goodies. Replays. Vehicle deformation. If Firemint had, along with all the other information divulged today, said the game would cost $20 dollars I would've thought it a fair price. $10 dollars is a steal. And not just your average steal; I'm talking taking Home.
I think kids are being spoiled by Gameloft's 6.99 releases. They should go back to launching games at their proper price, so we can actually see better games with better funding. I'm looking at you too Aralon, Mr.I-should-be-priced-at-12.99-easily. But then again, 6.99 could be the sweet spot in terms of profits. Who knows.
Haha, you crack me up dude. Like I said, try to develop your own racing game as good as this like I described in my previous post and then come talk about the price. Sheesh. This is just 3 more bucks anyways. People like you are one of the reasons developers don't bother putting out quality games for the iPhone. I mean why bother if you're only going to get 5 bucks for WoW a piece on the iOS right? Oh and just a side note, this has 16 player multiplayer. Think of how great that is on the iPhone. You're going to get a lot of replay value for just 10 bucks which is the about same price for two veinti Starbucks frappuccino.
And here's roughly what some of that looks like This is a gource data visualization video some of our guys put together for fun, showing SVN checkins from the team.
