This post 100000000000000000x TIMES seriously i think i love u man, thats exactly what i was thinking, in anything this game is underpriced, as well as others games on the appstore =P if companies, and Apple could make some sort of agreement to publish Premium Games at $14.99, $19.99, or even $24.99 or $29.99 we could see the iPhone Gaming industry grow so much! people should know that they get what they are paying for, and dont expect to get console-like quality for 2.99 :/, Appstore regular buyres should be aware of this.
Just wanna ask a question on Real Racing 1. Why I use iPhone 4 cannot turn on vibration in in-game control setting even I already turn it on in my iOS setting? I remember when I play this game using iPhone 3G or 3GS long time before, my phone can vibrate when the car is driving on grass. Please help me or tell me what the problem is. Thanks!!
I can see where you are coming from. You see all these tier 1 games from major publishers launching for 6+ bucks and going on as low as 99cents sale within a couple of months, so you might be thinking real racing 2 will follow the same suite too. Cant blame you here coz thats pretty much the truth as far as appstore games are concerned. But, firemint isnt one of those devs. They sure are a tier 1 developer for iOS but they dont make 50 games a year. So far they only have 2 iphone games and ipad versions of those 2. None of them ever went on a crazy sale. A gradual price drop with time is all they went with and even if RR2 follows the same suite as RR1, you wont save more than a 2-3 bucks unless you wait for 5 months. And if you look at RR HD or flight control HD, they never went on sale, ever. I still havent found any iOS racer better than Real racing 1 yet. Sure, there are some fun arcade racers and a couple of sim racers too but none surpassed RR's quality. They are good in their own terms but if you have to name just one iOS racer, it'll have to be real racing 1 without any doubt. So its pretty much guaranteed that RR2 will be the best one out there for quite some time now. So unless you arent interested in racing games to begin with, its definitely not worth it to wait for months just to save a few bucks and not play the Best racing game on appstore already. But if you ARE interested in such games, there is no reason not to buy RR2 the moment it comes out (or maybe wait a few hours just to read the reviews and impression if you have any doubts about it being the best in its class), especially considering firmint games dont do these crazy sales.
exactly. Afaic RR2 should be $9.99 and Aralon (which will likely end up being a tepid experience that everyone will be whining about for days when it does come out) should be $4.99...
Wow this game looks awsome!! Can't wait to get it! And firemint how long did it take you to make this game? Just curious
18 months and 2 million US dollars http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Real+Racing+2/news.asp?c=25815
Game of the week next week- RR2 or Aralon? It's such a shame that there can only be one game of the week, seing as that ALL the epic games get released in December!!!!!! And not only that, 2 probable game of the week/game of the YEAR contenders are being released on the same day, Thursday Dec 16th!!!!!!!!!!! Of course they're both insta-buys for me, as was infinity blade, but I'm itching to get my hands on real racing 2 and aralon and compare them with the seemingly incomparable, infinity blade. EDIT: Oh, and I just figured out today, Monday the 13th, that NOVA 2 is being released the 16th as well. But I'm way more excited about rr2 and aralon, cuz gameloft is the no brand name knockoff factory of all games. The only thing it had going in any of its games was its graphics, which used to be industry defining on the iphone, but with Infinity Blade released, THINK AGAIN! Apple better choose wisely: Real racing 2, Aralon, or NOVA 2 for game of the week? (plus, I think apple's game of the week selection is biased/ determined by bribes as a way of advertising-did anyone else think trucks and skulls WASN'T a worthy contender of gameoftheweek? )
I usually never pay more than $2 for an iOS app (with the exception of Super Quickhook) but I will buy this next Thursday.
I bet Real Racing 2 cost more to make because they probably had to pay for the rights to use real cars.
As I said before, the real hard sell here is justifying Real Racing 2 for 9.99 and Aralon for 6.99, when both come out on the same day. Asphalt 6 has real licensing, as did GT: Motor Academy. GT:MA debuted at 6.99, as will Asphalt 6. I'm not saying Real Racing 2 isn't worth 9.99. It's just hard to justify the price tag in the face of an extensive amount of immidiate competition, all of which is or will be selling for less. NOVA 2, Aralon, Battlefield Bad Company 2, possibly Dungeon Defenders, and possibly a second Gameloft game, which would likely be Shadow Complex, all could come out on the same day as Real Racing 2, and all will be noticeably cheaper than Real Racing 2. The timing is just bad for Real Racing 2 to come out now with that price tag. If it had come out some other time, it would be much easier to swallow.
16 player online multiplayer, stunning graphics and real cars isn't enough for a measly ten dollars, huh?
