Exactly. Different genres. Does Aralon offer licensed cars? 4 tyre simulation? To a racing fan, Aralon isn't worth .99 cents. Good thing I like both though.
It sure is, but I only have so much money per month to spend on iPhone games and there are just other games that I'll buy first. I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually just...not now.
I'm no RPG fan so I will avoid Aralon. I have BFBC2 on my PC so I don't need EA's port. Gameloft's failed both chances with Asphalt 4 and 5 and judging from the videos they have made no improvements. This leaves NOVA 2 and Real Racing 2. I'll have to buy this and wait for NOVA 2's price to come down.
Ask again... Just wanna ask a question on Real Racing 1. Why I use iPhone 4 cannot turn on vibration in in-game control setting even I already turn it on in my iOS setting? I remember when I play this game using iPhone 3G or 3GS long time before, my phone can vibrate when the car is driving on grass. Please help me or tell me what the problem is. Thanks!!
Let me put it another way: U.S. Top grossing list Infinity Blade, #1, 5.99 Dungeon Hunter #6, 6.99 Eternal Legacy #8, 6.99 Puzzle Quest 2, not in the top 50, 9.99 All 4 of those games came out last Thursday Flash forward 1 week: Aralon, 6.99 NOVA 2, 6.99 Battlefield Bad Company 2, 4.99 (?) Asphalt 6/Shadow Complex, 6.99 Dungeon Defender, 2.99 Real Racing 2, 9.99 It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going to happen here and that it's not good for Firemint. Those who frequent this forum are die-hards and would likely purchase RR2 no matter the cost, but it's going to take a lot more than Just a handful of dedicated hardcores to push this game over the top in terms of revenue. Honestly, there's a decent chance I'll buy it. I still don't think the price tag is a good idea considering what this game is up against.
^I have to admit even though Real Racing 2 appeals to me the most of that list, Aralon's intro 6.99 price along with Dungeon Defender $2.99 seems to be a far better deal than RR2 at $9.99. And then... there's Nova 2 and more stuff I forgotten about at cheaper prices. But then I don't think Firemint is aiming for great holiday sales; probably more for the longer term? You know I might still pick this up a month down the road, and it'd probably still be priced at $9.99, with probably not much competition then. If they put in an intro price it would be a different story.
Puzzle Quest wasn't as hyped up as the other games. I mean, look at the New & Noteworthy section. Those 3 games are there, but no Puzzle Quest 2. That section does make a difference. People go on the App Store and the first apps they see are Infinity Blade, Dungeon Hunter 2, Jenga, and Eternal Legacy. Just because a $9.99 app isn't in the Top Grossing section, it doesn't mean that it is because of the price. It could just be because the game hasn't interested many people. I haven't even heard of Puzzle Quest 2 until it came out. What really matters is making it into the New & Noteworthy section. Once the icon appears on the front page of the Games section, it will generate more sales and then possibly make the Top Paid and Top Grossing sections and generate even more sales. But yea, obviously not everyone will buy every single game, but racing fans will buy RR2, FPS fans will buy NOVA2/BFBC2, RPG fans will buy Aralon etc.
I'm just wondering how Apple is gonna feature all these games. So many of them deserve mentions. Apple loved Real Racing (constantly features everywhere, even in categories it doesn't even belong in), so I don't think you can count apple out from giving them a mention. RR2 just looks amazing. To me, the only comparable release on that day is Aralon.
atlast a good racing game for my ipod touch with good graphics and good gameplay. Finnaly I won't need to drag my psp every were...
What are you talking about? Gameloft didn't license shit in Modern Combat 2. They cheaped out and made a fake MN106 instead of licensing an actual M16 and they don't even need to license Russian weapons (I haven't seen a single game console or mobile with Russian stuff that is actually licensed. The Russian companies are like bankrupt so they have other things to worry about.)
